Do you want to unhide the hidden apps on an iPhone? We’ve got you covered. Read on to know how you can unhide the apps that you had hidden in the past. So, let’s get started.
What does it mean to unhide apps on an iPhone?
“Unhiding apps” on an iPhone generally means that you get the app back on the screen that must have been hidden in the past by the user. It means restoring visibility or access to applications that were intentionally or accidentally hidden from the main view on the screen. This generally means bringing an app icon back to the Home Screen from the App Library, restoring a whole Home Screen page that was hidden, or making an app visible again after it was moved to a special Hidden folder within the App Library for more privacy. This can be done by the user for many reasons. In essence, it’s the process of making a previously hidden app available to view and open more easily.
Steps to unhide apps on an iPhone
Now that we know what it means to unhide an app on an iPhone, let us also discuss the steps that can help us do so.
From the App Library
This is done when the apps are removed from the Home Screen, and you can now use the App Library to unhide them.
Go to the App Library
As the first thing, Keep Swiping left past your very last Home Screen page until you reach the App Library.
Find the App
Look for the app in the category folder or simply try to look for it using the search bar. Once you find it, tap and hold the app icon until a menu finally appears.
Select “Add to Home Screen”
When you tap this option, it will instantly move the app icon from the App Library back onto your main Home Screen for easy access to the user. Now you can see it every time you scroll through your screen.
From the “Hidden” Folder in iOS 18+
This is for apps you actively hid and made necessary the biometric or a passcode access for them.
Open the App Library
Keep swiping left until you get to the App Library. Now, keep scrolling to the very bottom to locate the “Hidden” folder.
Unlock the Folder
This very folder is the one you’ve got to open. Tap on the folder and authenticate with your Face ID, Touch ID, or Passcode that you had set.
Unhide the App and Confirm
Now, finally, tap on and hold the app you want to unhide, then select “Don’t Require Face ID” from the menu. Authenticate one more time if prompted. The app will now be unhidden for you and will reappear in the main App Library categories. When it does so, it can be added back to the Home Screen if you want to.
That’s all you need to know to unhide apps on your iPhone.
