Pokémon-only Max Moves are strong charge moves that can reach Gigantamax in main series games. Even while Gigantamax isn’t a direct element of Pokémon GO, you may still acquire and apply strong charge moves to improve your Pokémon’s fighting skills. This is a detailed walkthrough on how to get a Max Move in Pokémon GO in 2024.

KEYPOINT: To grab it, you’ll have to swipe your finger left or right onto the bubble. You’ll enter a three-second countdown before your Pokémon Dynamax after the Max Meter is filled.

In Pokémon GO, what does a Max Move mean?

Unlocking Charge Moves or enhancing a Pokémon’s current moveset are the closest things to having Max Moves in Pokémon GO, even though they differ slightly from those in games like Pokémon Sword and Shield. For fighting in raids, PvP (Player vs Player), and gym matches, these charge moves are essential.

How to Get a Max Move (Charge Move) Unlocked

To get a second charge move or make your current charge move better, do the following to improve your Pokémon’s performance:

  1. Choose a Pokémon
  • Choose a Pokémon that you wish to strengthen or enhance for use in combat first. A Pokémon with high CP and strong IV stats (Individual Values) will do better in battle, particularly in raids or PvP, so pick one accordingly.
  1. Get Candy and Stardust

You need the Pokémon-specific Stardust and Candy in order to unlock a second charge move. Depending on the species of the Pokémon, different charge moves have different unlock costs. This is an overview in general:

  • Simple Pokémon, such as Caterpie and Pidgey: Usually about 25 Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
  • Legendary Pokémon (like as Rayquaza and Mewtwo): Can cost 100,000 Stardust and 100 Candy.
  • Baby Pokémon (like Togepi, Riolu): May cost 75,000 Stardust and 75 Candy.
  • Stardust is earned by catching Pokémon, hatching eggs, and completing research tasks, while
  • Candy is earned by catching, transferring, and walking with the Pokémon as your buddy.
  1. Open the Second Charge Motion

Once you’ve collected enough Candy and Stardust, visit the Pokémon summary page:

  • On the Pokémon that are in your collection, tap.
  • When the “New Attack” button shows up beneath the active attack, tap it.
  • Verify your desire to use Candy and Stardust to activate the second charge manoeuvre.
  1. Charge Moves TMs

You might want to adjust it after you’ve unlocked the second charge move. Technical Machines (TMs) are useful in this situation. Two categories of TMs exist:

  • Quick TM: Modifies the quick move of your Pokémon.
  • Charge TM: Modifies the charge move of your Pokémon.
  • To switch to a move that is better for your strategy, use a Charge TM. Whether you’re playing Team GO Rocket, Raids, or PvP, having the appropriate move set can make a huge difference.
  1. Exclusive Moves with Elite TMs
  • You will require an Elite TM for unique moves (such as Community Day exclusive moves or heritage moves). With the use of these uncommon artefacts, you can choose from a variety of moves, some of which are no longer accessible with regular TMs.
  • How to Get Elite TMs: Community Day events, end-of-season PvP incentives, and special bundles in the in-game shop are the usual ways to obtain Elite TMs.
  1. Application in Combat
  • When your Pokémon learns its strong charge moves, you can employ them to their fullest potential in combat. Your Pokémon’s adaptability is increased when it has multiple charge moves, which gives you an advantage over opponents who might only have one kind of move accessible.

Advice to Make the Most of Your Steps

  1. Give Legendary Pokémon Priority: It can be expensive to unlock a second charge move for Legendary Pokémon, but it is very useful for defeating challenging raid monsters and winning PvP matches.
  2. Benefit from Events: Stardust prices can drop during occasions such as Community Days, and Pokémon captured during the event frequently have enhanced stats or unique moves.
  3. Buddy System: Assign your Pokémon to each other to earn Candy more quickly, particularly for uncommon species when Candy is scarce.

In summary

To prepare your team for combat, one of the most important strategies in Pokémon GO is to unlock and maximise Max Moves, often known as charge moves. By investing in Stardust and Candy, unlocking a second charge move, and utilizing TMs for move optimization, you can dominate the competition in raids, PvP, and gym battles. Stay updated on in-game events in 2024 to make the most of opportunities to get rare items like Elite TMs and save Stardust!
