In the virtual world, emojis can truly be termed as a savior since they reduce the risk of misinterpretation. Where words are unable to convey the intent or mood behind a text, a single emoji can do it. With the advancement of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), emojis are taking up a new form. While users can interpret static emojis in multiple ways, dynamic and lively emojis can solve this problem.

Emojis, when fused with AR and VR, can take the game of communication to a whole new level. With these technologies, emojis can become more expressive and interactive. This fusion will successfully break the barrier between face-to-face and virtual communications.

In reality, it’s easier to understand the reactions of another person. Just a glance at someone’s face can tell you whether they are enjoying your talk or loathing it. AR/VR emojis are created to provide a solution to it so that virtual communications won’t seem like a distant one.

AR/VR emojis have redefined social media

Many social media platforms have already adopted AR/VR technology in their emojis. For instance, Samsung users can now interact with the use of AR emojis, where the AR emoji can take the animated form of the user, thus making conversations livelier.

Facebook joined this trend, too, and introduced VR emojis. With these emojis, you can now shake your fist, and your personalized avatar will show anger. You can now express real-time emotions of shock, joy, surprise, and whatnot!

WhatsApp has recently decided to introduce this technology, too. Your Quest VR Headsets will soon be able to connect to WhatsApp, and you will be able to swipe, type, or view messages without using any hand gestures.

Apple has also released Animojis and Memojis, which allow customers to customize emojis to their preferences. Snapchat has also added augmented reality emojis to its videos.

Are AR/VR emojis a threat to your privacy?

ExpressVPN research explored emojis future, which indicated that while emojis can be mesmerizing and a blessing, they can negatively affect your security and privacy. AR/VR emojis usually rely on facial recognition technology to customize your avatar and emojis. Thus, there can be an instance where hackers can store your biometric data. Your facial expressions and cues might be used for advertising without your explicit consent.

Here comes the increased necessity of using a VPN. Since AR/VR technology may make you vulnerable to security threats, a VPN can give you stronger control over your personal information. It encrypts your data and secures your IP address to keep data confidential and unexploited. Therefore, you can delve into the world of future interactions without any worry!

Conclusion

Thus, AR/VR is all set to reshape the standards of current emojis. These visually appealing emojis capture the attention of the audience, thus improving engagement.  It is anticipated that these advanced forms of communication will deepen our connections while simultaneously strengthening our privacy and security.
