The statement was made during a meeting between Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu, and Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. With more than 35,000 employees, the Pocharam campus is currently one of Infosys’s biggest locations in the country. Another important turning point in the company’s growth trajectory is this expansion.

Details of the Expansion Project

Timeline and Investment

The initial phase of this ambitious development is expected to cost Infosys ₹750 crore. As part of the project, new IT buildings with space for 10,000 workers will be built. It is anticipated that this phase will be finished in the upcoming two to three years. In order to ensure ongoing growth and job possibilities, the remaining 7,000 positions will be created in later project phases.

Strategic Significance

This development highlights Telangana’s position as a hub for IT innovation and growth. Because the state is actively working to establish a business-friendly climate, major industrial giants like Infosys have gravitated toward the state. The move also shows how dedicated Infosys is to using Hyderabad’s talent pool and facilities to deliver excellent IT services.

Strengthening the Infosys-Telangana Partnership

Shared Vision for Growth

The Infosys-Telangana partnership is built on a shared commitment to driving innovation, empowering local communities, and bolstering the state’s economy. Speaking at WEF, CFO Sanghrajka stated, “Our partnership with the Government of Telangana reflects our shared vision of driving innovation, empowering communities, and strengthening the IT landscape.”

Government Support

Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu, echoed Sanghrajka’s sentiments, emphasizing the government’s dedication to nurturing talent and creating opportunities. Babu said, “We remain committed to fostering strategic alliances and building an ecosystem that propels Telangana’s economy forward.”

Impact on Employment and Salaries

Job Creation

The expansion is expected to have a transformative impact on the region’s employment landscape, providing opportunities for fresh graduates and experienced professionals alike. Infosys’s robust hiring plans are aligned with its vision of building a skilled workforce that can meet the demands of the global IT industry.

Salary Hikes in FY25

In addition to job creation, Infosys has announced 6-8% average salary hikes for employees in India. The compensation rollout will occur in two phases: the first began on January 1, and the second phase will commence on April 1. These hikes reflect the company’s commitment to rewarding its workforce amid its growth journey.

Infosys’s Broader Hiring Strategy

Hiring New Graduates

In FY25, Infosys is still on track to hire more than 15,000 recent graduates, demonstrating its commitment to developing new talent. By giving the next generation of professionals opportunity, this program will not only help the company’s expansion ambitions but also benefit India’s growing IT sector.

Dedication to Staff Development

Employee development is a top priority for Infosys, a prominent worldwide provider of IT services. The business has established itself as an industry employer of choice thanks to its efforts in upskilling, training, and competitive pay packages.
