Intel debuts AI Cloud with Gaudi 3 chips, enhancing its offerings for enterprise customers. Intel has officially unveiled its new AI cloud service, named Intel Tiber AI Cloud, featuring the latest Gaudi 3 accelerator chips. This service aims to support a new enterprise AI solution with hybrid cloud capabilities developed in collaboration with generative AI startup Inflection AI. The announcement was made on Monday, marking a significant step in Intel’s ongoing commitment to advancing AI technologies.

The Intel Tiber AI Cloud represents a rebranding and expansion of the previously introduced Intel Tiber Developer Cloud. Launched about a year ago, the initial service provided early access to Intel’s new chips, including Gaudi 3 and Xeon 6, primarily for development purposes. Now, Intel is expanding the scope to include production-level cloud instances for commercial use, targeting large AI startups and enterprises.

Key Features and Offerings

The Intel Tiber AI Cloud offers several instances powered by Gaudi 3, Gaudi 2 chips, Xeon CPUs, Core Ultra 200V CPUs, and Max Series GPUs. This expansion aligns with Intel’s strategy to showcase the “price performance” advantages of its newly launched Gaudi 3 chips. It also opens up new avenues for recurring revenue through software and services, as highlighted by Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger in previous interviews.

With the introduction of this cloud service, Intel debuts AI Cloud with Gaudi 3 chips to support large enterprises. Markus Flierl, a seasoned veteran with experience from Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Nvidia, leads Intel Tiber AI Cloud. He emphasized that the company’s entry into the commercial cloud AI market is driven by customer demand, rather than a desire to compete directly with established cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS). Instead, Intel aims to focus solely on AI computing.

Building Customer Relationships

Flierl noted that the expanded capabilities of Intel Tiber AI Cloud will foster better customer relationships. By transitioning from a development-only service to a commercial offering, Intel gains valuable insights into customer needs and preferences. This strategy not only enhances customer engagement but also helps refine the services offered.

With data centers located in Oregon, Arizona, and Ohio, Intel views the Tiber AI Cloud as a significant opportunity in the AI landscape. Flierl highlighted the strong demand for such solutions, suggesting that the service will play a crucial role in Intel’s growth.

Collaboration with Inflection AI

In a competitive market, Intel debuts AI Cloud with Gaudi 3 chips to capture the growing demand for AI solutions. In conjunction with the launch of Intel Tiber AI Cloud, Intel announced a partnership with Inflection AI to create an enterprise AI solution called Inflection for Enterprise. This new system, powered by Intel’s Gaudi 3 processors, aims to deliver user-friendly, empathetic AI capabilities for organizations. The solution will initially be available through the AI Cloud and is expected to ship as a server appliance in the first quarter of 2025.

Inflection for Enterprise is designed to meet the needs of complex, large-scale deployments. It offers control, customization, and scalability for businesses, providing a virtual AI co-worker tailored to a company’s unique data and culture. Intel’s Gaudi 3 chips are highlighted for their competitive price and performance advantages, which are crucial for enterprise clients.

Ted Shelton, COO of Inflection AI, emphasized the importance of security and control for enterprises. The system allows companies to run AI applications on private cloud instances, ensuring that sensitive data remains confidential. Inflection AI plans to offer this solution in public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises formats, addressing various enterprise needs.

The launch of Intel Tiber AI Cloud and the partnership with Inflection AI represent significant advancements in enterprise AI solutions. With a focus on performance, customization, and security, these initiatives aim to meet the growing demand for effective AI applications in the business sector.
