Hospals raises Rs 10 crore

Hospals, a medical tourism startup has now secured Rs. 10 crores from a funding round led by the Venture Catalysts and Spiral Ventures. The startup is going to use the fund for expanding its services across North Africa, India, and the Middle East.

Founded in the year 2018 by Ahmed Danish, along with Al Shifa Healthcare services founder, Junaid and Alok Kumar Singh, the COO of AI Shifa, Hospals provides end-to-end hospital services to medical tourists.

It provides services like recommending doctors and hospitals, appointments with doctors, visa assistance, post-treatment follow-ups, etc., to medical tourists. Hospals has been Incubated by the Technology 9 Labs, a startup studio funded by Spiral Ventures.

Breifing about the investment, Yasuhiro Seo, partner at Spiral Ventures, said, “With a multilingual, tailored mobile-technology based platform, Hospals has successfully created a solution which addresses the pain points in the healthcare ecosystem. Japanese corporates are extremely bullish to partner with healthcare companies in India and Spiral Ventures can facilitate possible partnerships.”

With more than 200 monthly medical tourists and more than 6,000 patients from more than 10 countries, the startup has been able to expand its services to some of the Commonwealth countries as well.
