Microsoft Announces Surface Headphones Powered by Cortana

The Microsoft Surface Event 2018 was full of surprises as the company unveiled a slew of new devices at the event held on the 2nd of October. Some of these devices include the Surface laptop 2, Surface Pro 6, and Surface Studio 2. Apart from these, the company has also revealed a new pair of headphones which is powered and supported by its AI assistant, Cortana.

The wireless headphones can easily get connected with the help of any Bluetooth device, a personal computer, or even with a smartphone so that users can listen to music and answer calls with ease.

The headphones also come with an active noise cancellation feature, which means users can decide exactly how much noise they want to let inside their ears.

The active noise cancellation feature can be easily controlled with the help of a dial on the left ear cup. On the other hand, you can use the dial which is available on the right ear cup to control the volume.

“They slip comfortably over your ears to surround you with spectacular sound quality and 13 levels of ambient noise control. Designed with collaboration in mind, there are 2 beam-forming microphones on each ear cup, 8 microphones in total, all helping you focus on the sounds you want to capture allowing for excellent call experiences,” Microsoft wrote in its blog.

The headphones come with a 3.5mm USB Type C connector which can be used to charge them. The company has claimed that the new headphones take around 2 hours to charge fully.

The Surface Headphones are easily compatible with the Windows 10, MacOS, and iOS. They are going to be available in only one color – Light Gray and will be shipped at the price of $350 in the US and UK.
