With the latest update, Microsoft Copilot AI gets voice and vision, allowing users to interact with the assistant in a more natural way. Microsoft has announced a series of updates for its Copilot AI, enhancing the functionality and user experience across multiple platforms. Among the key features is Copilot Voice, which introduces four voice options, allowing users to interact with the AI in a more conversational manner. The voice feature is initially available in English across select regions, including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. This voice-based interaction is similar to Google’s Gemini Live and ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, focusing on making user conversations with AI feel more natural.

Copilot is now more tightly integrated with Microsoft’s Edge web browser. Users can employ the AI to summarize webpage content, translate text, or rewrite sentences directly within the browser. By typing “@copilot” in the address bar, users can engage the AI for tasks like simplifying web pages, making it easier to navigate information while browsing.

Copilot on WhatsApp and Mobile Platforms

In addition to integration within Edge, Copilot AI is now available on Meta’s WhatsApp. Users can interact with the AI assistant via Microsoft’s website by connecting through the “Microsoft Copilot on WhatsApp” feature. Moreover, the new Copilot experience is rolling out on iOS, Android, and Windows platforms, allowing for cross-platform usage and a unified experience across devices.

Microsoft has introduced experimental capabilities for Copilot through its Labs, including features like Copilot Vision and Think Deeper. Copilot Vision allows the AI to understand the elements on a user’s screen, such as images and text, offering real-time answers based on the content displayed. This feature is currently available to select Copilot Pro subscribers in the US, and it is being tested on limited websites.

As Microsoft Copilot AI gets voice and vision, the assistant can now respond to spoken queries and analyze the content displayed on a user’s device. The Think Deeper feature enhances the AI’s ability to handle complex queries by providing more detailed reasoning and offering suggestions or comparisons between different options. This feature, though experimental, is expected to take longer for responses, as the AI processes and evaluates the complexity of the requests. Think Deeper is currently available to Pro users in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Copilot Daily: Personalized News and Reminders

The latest release from Microsoft ensures that Copilot AI gets voice and vision, offering a more personalized and seamless experience for users across platforms. Another addition to the Copilot AI suite is the Copilot Daily feature. This tool offers users daily summaries of news and weather updates, presented using their preferred voice. Microsoft ensures that all content sourced for Copilot Daily comes from authorized providers such as Reuters, Financial Times, and Hearst Magazines. The feature is currently rolling out in the US and UK, with expansion planned for other regions.

Microsoft has also introduced a Discover section, where Copilot presents personalized ideas in the form of cards. These cards serve as conversation starters, offering suggestions on topics of interest or skills that users may want to learn. This feature aims to make interactions with the AI more dynamic and tailored to individual preferences.

Future of Copilot AI: Expanding Capabilities

Microsoft has emphasized that these new features are part of a broader plan to make Copilot more adaptable and intuitive. The AI is designed to learn from user interactions over time, allowing it to offer more personalized and relevant assistance. As the company continues to refine these tools, Copilot AI is expected to become a more powerful and versatile companion across both personal and professional settings.

With further updates on the horizon, Microsoft’s vision for Copilot AI includes deeper integration into users’ daily lives, ensuring that the AI evolves to meet the growing demands of a digital-first world.
