Motorola has launched the Motorola Edge 70 in India, positioning it as an ultra-thin, no-compromise premium smartphone with triple 50MP cameras, a bright 6.7-inch AMOLED display, and a large battery packed into a 5.99mm slim body. The brand is pitching the Edge 70 as a design-focused device that still delivers on performance, camera quality, and durability, while staying relatively aggressive on pricing in the upper mid-range segment.

The handset comes as part of Motorola’s Edge series expansion in the country and is being marketed as “impossibly thin yet uncompromised.” It features aircraft-grade aluminium, Pantone-validated colours, AI-driven features, and support for both wired and wireless fast charging, putting it up against popular premium mid-range options from rival brands.

Price, Variants and Sale Details:

In India, the Motorola Edge 70 has been launched in a single memory configuration featuring 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM paired with 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The smartphone carries a launch price of ₹29,999, with Motorola also advertising effective pricing as low as ₹28,999 through select bank offers and promotions during the introductory sale window.

The device will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Motorola’s official India website, and leading offline retail partners across the country. Colour options include Pantone Bronze Green, Pantone Gadget Grey, and Pantone Lily Pad, all designed in collaboration with Pantone for more accurate and stylish finishes. Motorola is heavily highlighting the design and finish as key differentiation points in the Edge 70’s positioning. According to Motorola’s launch material and partner listings, the first sale is scheduled to begin on December 23, with pre-launch teasers already live on e-commerce platforms and social media. The brand is also pushing limited-time offers, including bank discounts and bundled benefits, to drive early adoption among users looking for a slim yet feature-rich 5G phone.

Display, Design and Performance Features:

The Motorola Edge 70 features a 6.7-inch Super HD (1.5K) AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits, making it one of the brightest panels in its segment on paper. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, adding extra toughness against drops and scratches.

Design is a major focus area for the Edge 70. The handset measures just 5.99mm in thickness, uses an aircraft‑grade aluminium frame, and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL‑STD‑810H military‑grade durability certification. This combination makes it not only slim but also relatively rugged compared to many other ultra-thin devices.

Under the hood, the Edge 70 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. This is paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage on the India variant, promising capable performance for everyday use, gaming, and AI features. The phone runs Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI on top, and the company has committed to providing three major Android updates and four years of security updates, which should appeal to users concerned about software longevity.

A key highlight is Motorola’s integration of AI and assistant tools. The Edge 70 comes with Moto AI 2.0 features like Next Move, Catch Me Up 2.0, Pay Attention 2.0, and the “Remember This” recall feature, along with support for Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini. The phone also integrates Perplexity and other AI experiences to offer summarisation, on-screen understanding, and context-aware suggestions. Powering all of this is a 5,000mAh silicon‑carbon battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 40 hours of usage on a single charge. The device supports 68W TurboPower fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging, giving users flexibility in how they top up the battery. Despite the slim profile, Motorola has managed to keep the battery capacity competitive with thicker rivals.

Triple 50MP Cameras with 4K Recording on All Lenses:

Cameras are another major selling point of the Motorola Edge 70. The phone carries what Motorola calls India’s only ultra‑thin triple 50MP AI Pro‑Grade camera system, featuring a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), 2.0µm Ultra Pixel tech, All‑Pixel Focus, and Pantone‑validated true colour output for more accurate tones. This is aimed at delivering sharp, detailed photos across different lighting situations.

The rear setup also includes a 50MP ultra‑wide camera that doubles as a macro shooter, allowing users to capture expansive landscapes as well as close‑up shots without needing a separate dedicated macro lens. On the front, the Edge 70 houses a 50MP Quad Pixel selfie camera for high‑resolution selfies and video calls, again tuned for skin tones and colour accuracy.

One standout spec is that all three 50MP cameras on the Indian variant support 4K 60fps video recording, with the ability to switch between lenses while recording. This capability, highlighted by Motorola as segment‑leading, makes the device particularly appealing to content creators and vloggers who need flexible, high‑quality video capture directly from a smartphone. Motorola has also added a dedicated 3‑in‑1 light sensor on the Edge 70. This sensor uses real‑time detection to read ambient lighting and adjust exposure and colour accordingly, while also working to eliminate flicker in tricky artificial lighting environments. Combined with Moto AI imaging tools and Ultra HDR photo support, the brand is pitching the Edge 70 as a serious camera phone packed into a slim, stylish shell.
