Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in connection with a massive Rs 252 crore mephedrone drug trafficking case. Orry’s name emerged during the interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, aka Lavish, a key accused recently deported from Dubai. Lavish alleged that he organized lavish rave parties in India and abroad, attended by several Bollywood celebrities, politicians, and public figures, naming Orry among them. The Mumbai Police have called Orry to the Ghatkopar unit of the ANC to record his statement, seeking to ascertain his possible links to the drug network. Orry has requested more time and is expected to appear after November 25.

Lavish’s Allegations and Rave Parties for Bollywood Celebrities:

Lavish, known for his flamboyant lifestyle, revealed during his interrogation that he hosted high-profile rave parties where narcotics were allegedly consumed by Bollywood film stars, fashion celebrities, and political figures. Apart from Orry, he named actors Nora Fatehi and Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, filmmaking duo Abbas-Mustan, and politician Zeeshan Siddique as attendees. Lavish also mentioned the presence of Alishah Parkar, a relative of the infamous underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, asserting the wide network of drug trafficking reaching the entertainment and political spheres. These discoveries have driven the ongoing investigation, highlighting the link between glamor, politics, and drugs.

Orry’s Influence and Background in Bollywood Circles:

Orry, the son of Mumbai businessman Suraj K. Awatramani, is a known socialite within Bollywood and fashion circuits. He gained fame for his close associations with Bollywood celebrities and star kids such as Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Nysa Devgan. Educated at Parsons School of Design, New York, Orry has carved out a niche as a fashion brand collaborator and influencer, widely recognized for his bold style and lavish lifestyle. Despite his celebrity status, he was previously booked by Jammu and Kashmir Police in March 2024 for allegedly consuming alcohol at a prohibited pilgrimage site. Orry’s summoning comes amid growing scrutiny on social media figures linked to celebrity party circuits.

Orry Seeks More Time to Appear Before Mumbai Police in Rs 252 Crore Drug Case:

Social media influencer Orry, officially known as Orhan Awatramani, has requested an extension to appear before the Mumbai Police Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) for questioning in the Rs 252 crore mephedrone drug case. Originally summoned to the Ghatkopar unit of the ANC, Orry’s lawyers have notified authorities that he will be available for questioning only after November 25, citing his absence from the city. The police have accepted this request for additional time. This case is among the largest drug busts in recent years and involves interrogations of several high-profile personalities. Orry’s name surfaced from the interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh (also known as Lavish), allegedly linked to narcotics and rave parties attended by celebrities and politicians. This latest development indicates ongoing investigations are at an advanced stage, but no formal charges against Orry have yet been made.

Ongoing Investigation and Next Steps:

The investigation into the Rs 252 crore mephedrone drug case started in March 2024 with the bust of a large manufacturing unit in Maharashtra’s Sangli district. Authorities have since tracked and arrested key players, including Shaikh and others tied to the Dawood Ibrahim gang. Mumbai Police are rigorously interrogating suspects and named individuals to piece together the operations and network involved. Orry’s forthcoming statement is expected to clarify his role and connections, if any, to the trafficking syndicate. The ANC continues to emphasize that no formal charges have yet been made and that all summons are part of verification processes.
