In his post, Srinivas expressed admiration for the Prime Minister’s commitment to staying updated on AI advancements. He described the discussion as inspiring and highlighted Modi’s forward-thinking approach to technology. “Had the honor to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The conversation revolved around AI adoption in India and worldwide,” Srinivas shared.

He further commended the Prime Minister’s dedication to the subject, stating, “Modi Ji’s remarkable vision for the future is truly inspiring.”

PM Modi Responds

PM Modi expressed enthusiasm about the interaction in response to the post. The Prime Minister acknowledged Srinivas’ contributions to the AI field and conveyed best wishes for his future endeavors. “Great to meet and discuss AI, its applications, and its evolution. Wishing you success with Perplexity AI,” Modi wrote.

Aravind Srinivas has also proposed a partnership with the Indian government to make AI tools accessible to students, faculty, and researchers. He suggested extending access to Perplexity Pro for academic purposes, aligning with the government’s recent initiatives to enhance education resources.

Social Media Buzz

The meeting sparked varied reactions online. Social media buzzed after Perplexity AI CEO met PM Modi for a ‘great conversation’ about technology and innovation. While some praised the interaction, others speculated humorously that the image of the meeting might have been AI-generated. One social media user joked, “This image looks real, but it might be created using Perplexity Pro.”

Many users urged the CEO to consider moving Perplexity AI’s operations to India, citing significant support for such a move.

About Aravind Srinivas

Aravind Srinivas, an alumnus of IIT Madras, holds dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and an advanced degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He began his career with OpenAI and later worked with DeepMind and Google. In 2022, Srinivas co-founded Perplexity AI, which has quickly risen to prominence in the tech world.

Many netizens reacted with excitement as Perplexity AI CEO meets PM Modi for a ‘great conversation’ about the future of AI. As the conversation between Srinivas and Modi gains attention, the focus shifts to the possibilities of AI adoption and collaboration in India. With Srinivas proposing greater accessibility to AI tools, the partnership could significantly advance AI in the country.

The recent meeting between Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sparked significant interest in India’s approach to artificial intelligence (AI). While the discussion highlights India’s ambition to lead in AI adoption, it also raises critical questions about implementation, accessibility, and the broader vision for AI in India.

Promoting AI Adoption

The conversation between Srinivas and Modi underscores the potential of AI to transform various sectors, including education, healthcare, and governance. PM Modi’s proactive engagement with technology leaders like Srinivas reflects a willingness to position India as a global AI hub. The focus on innovation aligns with India’s push to modernize its infrastructure and enhance productivity.

However, the road to effective AI adoption in India is fraught with challenges. Despite the country’s vast talent pool, access to AI tools remains limited for many students and researchers due to high costs and infrastructural gaps. While Srinivas’ proposal to offer Perplexity Pro to Indian academics at subsidized rates is promising, the success of such initiatives depends on government support and robust implementation strategies.
