Portal and Portal 2 author Eric Wolpaw said he wants Valve to start developing the Portal 3, with the final version due for release in 2011. New portal game. Writer Eric Wolpaw expressed hope that Valve would give the third game in the Portal series the green light before it became obsolete. Portal co-creator Eric Wolpaw, is a former Valve employee, he has expressed interest in creating a third game for Portal. According to VGC, Wolpaw discussed his work on various Valve games, including Portal 1 and 2, on a podcast in an interview with kiwi talk.

According to VGC, Wolpaw was interviewed on the Kiwi Talkz podcast, where he mentioned his work on various Valve video games, as well as Portals 1 and several others. In the latest edition of the gaming podcast he as one of the original writers called out Valve for not greenlighting Portal 3 till now at the end of a recent podcast interview called on Valve to greenlight Portal 3, citing the success of the opening table work that Wolpaw asked fans of the series to contact Valve CEO Gabe Newell to see how much they want in the third game.

Although, given how much Valve has booked over the years, fans probably won’t know Portal 3 exists until Valve is ready to share it. More than eleven years have passed since the launch of Portal 2, and it seems that fans are not the ones to demand that Valve start a sequel to one of their most beloved video games of all time. In the end, whether we see Portal 3 or not is entirely up to Valve’s whim. While the community will definitely love the 3rd iteration, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date regarding all things happening in the gaming industry.

In any case, if the recent podcast interview is any sign, it seems that Portal 3 hasn’t come close to releasing Half-Life 2. The recent podcast interview, in a way, showed that as far as Portal is concerned, the new main episode doesn’t look like this will happen soon. While the Wolpaws’ enthusiasm for Portal is clear, it also applies to the hurdles Valve would have to overcome to greenlight Portal 3’s re-creation. Eric Wolpaw’s passion for the series is obvious, but he’s also realistic about the hurdles he’ll have to overcome in order for Valves to make a third Portal game.
