Ram reveals its first electric truck, Ram 1500 REV. While the vehicle was already revealed, the details were not out yet. Now more features and the capabilities of the electric truck are revealed. It is expected to be a rival to Ford F-150 Lightning, the upcoming Chevy Silverado with its features.

After teasing an electric Ram truck concept last year, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said, “Our Ram 1500 will outperform all competitors on the attributes customers care about most: range, towing, payload, and charge time.” According to Ram Trucks CEO Mike Koval, the company is not looking to be the first to introduce an electric truck to the market. Competitors like Ford and Rivan have already started because they were unwilling to compromise on the “core attributes that make a truck,” such as towing and payload.
Ram unveiled its electric truck concept at CES in January, which generated a lot of buzz with unique features like grand saloon doors and detachable third-row seating. Although several of these features did not make it to the Ram 1500 REV production model, which was unveiled during the Super Bowl, the electric truck was still a success, with Ram closing initial reservations just five days later.
Features
Ram unveiled its first electric truck at the New York International Auto Show, boasting impressive specs. The 2025 Ram 1500 REV will come in two options, with the standard 168 kWh battery pack offering up to 350 miles of range, and the optional 229 kWh battery pack aiming for up to 500 miles. The electric truck has a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds and payloads of up to 2,700 pounds. It also has 800V fast charging, which can add about 110 miles of range in 10 minutes.
Compared to the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Ram 1500 REV has a better range, towing capacity, and payload. The Ram 1500 REV features dual 250 kW electric drive modules, 654 horsepower, and 620 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 mph target of 4.4 seconds. The electric truck also has vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home (V2H), and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) bidirectional charging capabilities. The Ram 1500 REV will come in five trims, including the Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited, and a new Tungsten. The Ram 1500 REV maintains the company’s traditional muscular body lines and fender openings, with 20- or 22-inch all-terrain tires. The truck also features a modern and aerodynamic design with lit “tuning fork” LED headlamps, a lit RAM badge, and a convenient one-touch frunk that provides 15 cubic feet of space. For the new Tungsten models, Ram has added a power tailgate, a 115 V outlet in the bed, and a modernized RAM badge to the rear of the truck.
