Razer has announced PC Remote Play, a free streaming service that lets users play PC games on mobile devices with full-resolution graphics. The beta service revealed at CES 2025, aims to deliver desktop-quality gaming on smartphones and tablets.

Unlike Xbox Cloud Gaming’s common issue of black bars on mobile screens, Razer’s solution automatically optimizes display output to match each device’s maximum resolution and refresh rate.

The service integrates with Razer’s existing software ecosystem, combining Razer Cortex for PC performance optimization and Razer Nexus for mobile game organization.

Experience PC Gaming Anywhere with the Razer Nexus

Users can connect their devices using either a Razer ID or a PIN pairing process. The service supports major gaming platforms including Steam, PC Game Pass, and Epic Games, enabling users to stream their entire PC game library from AAA titles to indie games.

To address touch control limitations, Razer has launched the Kishi Ultra controller. This mobile controller features mechanical buttons, Hall effect triggers, and Sensa HD haptics, making it an ideal companion for streaming PC games. While other controllers work with the service, the Kishi Ultra is specifically designed to integrate with Nexus and PC Remote Play.

The beta version comes with specific requirements: a Windows 11 PC or laptop as the host device, smartphones running Android 12 or iOS 18 or newer, and an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps. Currently, the service only functions when both devices share the same network, though Razer plans to add remote access capabilities in future updates.

Alongside PC Remote Play, Razer unveiled the Blade 16 gaming laptop at CES 2025. This new laptop provides enough power to host demanding games while maintaining a slim profile, complementing the streaming service’s functionality.

Mobile gaming has experienced a meteoric rise, transforming smartphones and tablets into high-performance gaming platforms. Not only has this changed the democratization of access to games but also how people engage with interactive entertainment. Still, the hardware constraints of mobile devices, particularly processing power and graphics capabilities, have often restricted the smooth porting of demanding PC games onto these devices.

Unlocking Mobile Gaming Potential with PC Remote Play

Razer’s introduction of PC Remote Play is the most pivotal step in this process. This free service takes advantage of the gaming power of already existing gaming PCs to bridge the gap and unlock a new era of mobile gaming accessibility. The innovative solution streams the entire PC game library on mobile devices, effectively transforming phones and tablets into powerful gaming consoles.

In a bid to achieve a seamless and enjoyable gaming experience, Razer has focused on performance optimization for mobile devices. Advanced streaming technologies and optimized visual output for mobile screens are going to be utilized to deliver console-quality experiences on the go.

This focus on user experience is further enhanced through robust controller support, ensuring that controls are precise and responsive to demanding games.

Although initially designed for gaming, PC Remote Play can easily grow into a more comprehensive service for remote access. As the service matures from its beta state, features like remote desktop access will be integrated, and this may greatly expand the utility of the service beyond gaming. The user will then be able to access and control their entire PC, including work applications, files, and other digital content, through their mobile device.

Razer’s PC Remote Play provides an important step towards a future where mobile and desktop gaming are no longer separated. This service easily links power gaming PCs and mobile devices, giving users an unprecedented amount of flexibility and freedom to play anywhere from playing a AAA title while on a bus ride to accessing work files remotely from home.
