The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is rumored to include significant enhancements to the primary camera trio as well as incremental improvements to everything else. In recent weeks, we’ve seen leaks regarding this and that detail, and now leakster Yogesh Brar has given a summary of the expected specs.
Samsung to introduce new improvements with Galaxy Z Fold 4
The major attraction, the foldable display inside, will purportedly stay at 7.6″. Samsung is reportedly attempting to reduce the crease. Using harsher Super UTG is part of the attempt to improve this display. The internal and exterior 6.2″ screens will continue to employ 120Hz AMOLED panels with resolutions in the same ballpark but somewhat different aspect ratios.
Brar talks about the cameras, stating that the primary module on the back will include a 50MP sensor (and not 108MP as some rumors suggested). That’s still an upgrade over the 3rd generation model’s 12MP, and the additional resolution will help bridge the gap to the longer telephoto lens – 3x optical magnification (up from 2x). The telephoto and ultra wide cameras will retain their 12MP resolution.
The internal selfie camera (in-display) is said to be 16MP, however that was also the physical resolution on the Z Fold3. However, the more complex picture processing demanded that it be binned down to 4MP. It remains to be seen whether this occurs again this year. The punch hole selfie cam (external) will keep its 10MP resolution.
With the recently announced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Samsung is likely to improve processing capability as well as RAM – 12 or 16GB, up from 12GB. Storage should be the same across the 256GB and 512GB models. The phone’s battery capacity is likely to remain at 4,400mAh, with a charging speed of 25W.
That’s pretty much it. Some features from the Z Fold3 will be carried over to the Galaxy Z Fold4, such as IPX8 water resistance, dual speakers, enhanced connectivity, and S Pen compatibility. However, there is still no space for the stylus.
According to reports, Samsung has begun mass production of the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, thus the customary August release date should be met. Analysts predict that the corporation would construct twice as many of each model this year in anticipation of high sales.
