Neymar has been into NFTs for quite a while. He has already spent over $1 million in acquiring 2 Bored Ape NFTs, among some other ones. His profile picture on Twitter is also this NFT, and very soon, it could change into a hexagonal shape as he uses the new NFT feature that rolled out.

The latest NFT (Bored Ape 6633) that you can see above cost him 159.99 ETH, which roughly equates to $481.k USD. Neymar paid around 66% more than the last buyer who got the same APE for 96 ETH around 1 month back. This is the reason NFTs are a real game if you know what to get and when to sell.
Other than this, Neymar also owns the Bored Ape 5269, which cost him $570k or 189.69 ETH. It has laser eyes which signifies the belief of Bitcoin reaching $100k. While his most valuable collections are from the Bored Ape Yacht Club, it is not the only NFTs he has. Neymar has also dabbled in ACESnikers fashion collection, Cryptopunks, and Doodles, among others.

Serena’s NFT was a gift from her husband, Alexis Ohanian, who is also the co-founder of Reddit and NFT enthusiast. Alexis purchased the NFT on January 5th for 117 Ethereum and transferred it to Serena’s account. While a lot of us are stoked about this purchase and think it’s great to have famous personalities in the NFT space, a lot of fans disagree. Many of them retweeted the Bored APE NFT tweet from Serena with open discontent. One of them said, “this cannot be happening right now,” while another user tweeted, “Not you. NOT YOU?”.
