3 March, 2016, Chennai: Social discovery app, Shouut has acquired a funding of US $500, 000 in its recently concluded funding round. The startup claims that funding reflects Shouut abilities in the app ecosystem.

Founded by Pravin Kocchar, the app deals in providing information about the places, events and offers around the unser’s location and for businesses, the start-up enables amplification of business deals to users around their business location. Recently, the company has joined hands with some of the top brands in the retail sector such as Shoppers Stop, Croma, Reliance Digital, DLF Promenade, Benetton.

Commenting on the funding, Kocchar said, “We have the ecosystem ready with brands, retailers etc. and now, we are ready for the next level of growth. We are excited to have the support of the investor who has shown trust in our product, and most importantly in our business vision. We are now ready for Scale.”

The company works on a very unique model and provides information to its users on various segments such as food & drink, nightlife, shopping, travel & stay and leisure & outdoor. It also gathers content from 150 expert bloggers, travel writers, publications and experienced content writers. Some of the content partners are Lonely Planet India magazine, So Delhi, The Daily Pao and Kunzum Travels, reports Business Standard.
