Bengaluru-based healthcare startup Superhealth is reportedly in advanced discussions to raise around $10 million in fresh funding from veteran entrepreneur and investor Ronnie Screwvala. The potential investment could mark a major jump in the company’s valuation as it prepares to expand its hospital network across India.

Superhealth’s Valuation Could More Than Triple

According to people familiar with the matter, the upcoming funding round is expected to value Superhealth at approximately $100 million, a significant increase from its $30 million valuation in 2025.

Other investors are also expected to participate in the round, although the final investor list and deal terms have not yet been confirmed.

The funding would provide Superhealth with additional capital at a crucial stage of its expansion. The company is looking to grow its hospital network while continuing to develop its technology-driven approach to healthcare delivery.

Founded in 2024, this would be Superhealth’s fourth funding round. According to Tracxn, the startup previously raised capital in December 2024, May 2025 and August 2025.

From Dhoni to Screwvala: Superhealth’s Backers

Superhealth has already attracted several prominent names from India’s startup and business ecosystem.

The company’s backers include former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, along with venture capital firms Sparrow Capital, Boundless Ventures and Panthera Peak, as well as several angel investors.

The latest potential investment from Screwvala would add another high-profile name to that list.

Screwvala has built a broad startup portfolio spanning sectors such as artificial intelligence, consumer technology, edtech, deeptech and spacetech. His investments include companies such as Digantara, SpeakX, ZuAI, CuePilot AI, Round1 and TrueFan.

A Controversial Moment for the Healthcare Startup

The proposed fundraise comes at an unusual time for Superhealth, which has recently faced criticism over an event held at its Bengaluru hospital.

On August 22, the company organised a late-night live music night on the non-clinical floors of its hospital premises. Videos and posts about the event spread online, triggering a backlash from users who questioned whether hosting such an event at a hospital was appropriate.

Some critics described the move as insensitive and tone-deaf.

Superhealth founder and CEO Varun Dubey defended the event, arguing that the company wants to create hospitals that do not intimidate or frighten patients.

The controversy has placed additional attention on Superhealth’s unconventional approach to healthcare and its attempt to rethink the traditional hospital experience.

What Is Superhealth Building?

Dubey founded Superhealth in 2024 after serving as Chief Revenue Officer at Apollo Hospitals and Chief Marketing Officer at Ola Electric and Practo.

The startup’s founding team also includes former Practo chief strategy officer Alexander Kuruvilla and Practo founding member Manoj Kumar.

Superhealth opened its first hospital in Koramangala, Bengaluru, in September 2025. Rather than relying entirely on conventional hospital pricing, the company offers fixed-price medical procedures through programmes such as Superbirth, Superskin, Supersmile and Supersurgery.

The company also says it operates using a zero-commission clinical model, aiming to separate doctors’ clinical decisions from financial incentives.

SuperOS: The AI Behind the Hospital

Technology is another major part of Superhealth’s strategy.

Its hospital operations are powered by SuperOS, an in-house agentic AI operating system designed to coordinate clinical and operational workflows.

The system is intended to support processes ranging from outpatient consultations and inpatient care to diagnostics, surgery scheduling, pharmacy operations and patient discharge.

Superhealth is essentially betting that AI can do more than assist doctors. It wants technology to become part of the infrastructure running an entire hospital.

The startup also offers an annual subscription priced at Rs 3,999, covering up to four family members and providing unlimited consultations and diagnostic services.

A New Operations Chief Joins the Company

Superhealth has also been strengthening its leadership team as it prepares for its next phase of growth.

Last week, the startup appointed Dalvir Singh Suri, co-founder of Dunzo, as its Head of Operations. His experience in building and managing a large-scale consumer technology operation could prove valuable as Superhealth attempts to expand beyond its first hospital.

The combination of physical hospitals, fixed-price healthcare packages, subscriptions and AI-powered operations represents an ambitious attempt to build a different kind of healthcare company.

Screwvala Expands His Startup Bets

For Screwvala, a potential investment in Superhealth would further diversify his growing startup portfolio.

The veteran entrepreneur has said he expects to back around 15 startups over the next 12–15 months, with typical cheque sizes ranging from $1 million to $3 million.

His recent activity has included investments across AI, deeptech, consumer technology and education. He was also an early investor in eyewear company Lenskart.

Screwvala recently invested Rs 300 crore in his edtech company upGrad as part of a Rs 360 crore internal funding round. The capital came as upGrad expanded its presence across test preparation, study abroad, AI and enterprise skilling and pursued its proposed acquisition of Unacademy.

If completed, his investment in Superhealth would signal growing investor interest in technology-driven healthcare businesses in India.

For Superhealth, however, the real challenge begins after the funding. Turning one Bengaluru hospital into a scalable healthcare network while convincing patients that hospitals can be more affordable, transparent and less intimidating will require much more than fresh capital.
