T-Mobile Starlink Beta Now Free for All, Including Verizon & AT&T Users

T-Mobile has officially expanded its Starlink Direct-to-Cell beta to everyone in the U.S., including Verizon and AT&T customers. Initially, the service was limited to T-Mobile subscribers and Pixel 9 users, but now, all smartphone users can access it—regardless of their carrier.

How T-Mobile Starlink Beta Works

The T-Mobile Starlink Beta enables direct-to-cell connectivity via satellites, ensuring coverage even in remote areas where traditional cell towers don’t reach. The service seamlessly works on most smartphones for the past four years, eliminating the need for specialized satellite-enabled devices. Users don’t have to configure anything—if they’re out of range of a traditional cell network, their phone will automatically connect to T-Mobile’s Starlink network.

Free Access Until July 2025

For a limited time, the beta service is free for everyone, but after July 2025, pricing will vary:

  • T-Mobile Go5G plan users: Free access.
  • Other T-Mobile users: $15/month add-on.
  • Early Adopter Discount: Register before March and pay only $10/month.
  • Verizon & AT&T users: $20/month add-on.

Features & Future Upgrades

Currently, beta users get direct-to-cell texting, including group messages and reactions. However, voice calls and data services are expected to roll out later in 2025. Additionally, the service enables Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) for all users in dead zones.

Competing Satellite Services

While T-Mobile and SpaceX’s Starlink lead the charge, competitors are also exploring satellite connectivity:

  • Verizon & Skylo: Set to introduce satellite services later this year.
  • AT&T & AST SpaceMobile: Development is in progress, but the rollout timeline remains uncertain.

How to Sign Up

Interested users can register for the beta via T-Mobile’s website. Separate registration portals exist for businesses and first responder agencies.

The T-Mobile Starlink Beta marks a major step toward a satellite-powered mobile future. With free trials and expanding accessibility, mobile connectivity’s an exciting time—especially for those frequently in low-signal areas. Sign up today to experience the future of cellular communication!
