The $56 Casio Watch is a Must-Have for Retro Watch Lovers

The $56 Casio Watch is a Must-Have for Retro Watch Lovers

Casio WS-B1000 is only $56,and  can connect with your phone to display the time, and has a step counter. Casio watches are no longer the analog marvels I used to see when I was growing up. While I had tested a durable Casio Wear OS watch a few years back, I had not given much consideration to its fitness elements.

The WS-B1000 is simple and ingenious at that. It lacks an optical heart rate monitor, OLED screen, impressive health sensors, NFC payments, or cellular connectivity. Instead, it has a Bluetooth profile for connecting with your phone, a built-in accelerometer for tracking steps, standard stopwatch and timer features, alarms, move reminders, and an LCD display with a backlight button. Just enough to make it a fitness tracker – but only just.

Several years ago, such a feature set would not interest anyone; but now, people are coming out of overtraining-induced burnout. This is a regrettably long process which is why people have come to cherish devices and apps focusing on rest and simplicity over grueling workouts. Today’s many smartwatches actively notify you about your active minutes, standing goals, calorie burn goals, and much more. It can be overwhelming..

People found the three weeks of using the WS-B1000 very enjoyable. People had almost forgotten how it feels simple to just try to reach a specific number of steps. With this watch you could just look down and say, “It’s 4 PM and I’m at 2,000 steps. Time to go for a walk. ” If I wanted to check my history, I could go to the Casio app and view a rough log. That was perfectly fine, with no frills, which is exactly what I was looking for. In terms of distance, I was normally not more than 500-1000 steps away from my Apple Watch Ultra; it was used on the other arm and I am very expressive.

The Casio app adjusts the time itself, thus, no buttons need to be pressed to set time or alarms. Limited; I’m terrible at that on older watches: I can never remember how to do it, or into which drawer I stuffed the user manual.

This watch isn’t for people seeking to get the best value out of their smartwatch. If, however, like me, you get tired of the fitness technology sometimes or if the concept of low-intensity fitness appeals to you, this is a good choice. And let me tell you, it is only $56! While most basic trackers in this range are fitness bands, this is a cute, retro-chic Casio watch to wear.

However, I have a pretty good feeling that out of all the products, this will be the watch I’ll be using.

In conclusion, the Casio WS-B1000 is one of the most remarkable digital watches that combine the spirit of the 80s and the simplicity of the 21st century. It also returns us to the simple aesthetics of having a watch that helps in time telling and step counting. If you want a simple step counter without additional features.
