Foldable iPhone Leak of Apple Causes New Row as Video Maker Ignores Legal Warning. YouTuber extraordinaire, Jon Prosser, has struck again.
Apple filed a lawsuit against him in July for alleged past Apple-related leaks, but he has managed to top that with a seasonal Christmas Eve surprise that has the tech industry abuzz: the release of 3D renders for the anticipated Apple foldable iPhone.
Prosser has emerged as rather a pain in the side of Apple, leaking unreleased devices with uncanny accuracy. Clearly, the lawsuit the company filed earlier in the year over the leaking of information regarding iOS 26 and Liquid Glass technology has not stopped the problem.
His latest video features what he says will be the first folder from the company, due out alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.
Everything We Know About Prosser Leaks of Apple
As per the video by Prosser, the foldable iPhone shall have a book-like design with an outer display screen measuring 5.5 inches, featuring a hole-punch camera. The inner screen, which appears when the device is unfolded, shall measure 7.8 inches with a hole-punch camera placed in the upper left corner.
The design of this device comprises dual cameras, resembling iPhone Air, placed on an elongated platform, accompanied by an LED flash placed opposite to it.
That might be its most shocking specification: its supposed slimness, only 9mm in its closed form, so 4.5mm in each half. This makes it slimmer than the ridiculously thin 5.6mm iPhone Air, which somehow still finds room to fit in its USB-C connector.

Specifications like this have appeared in a number of previous rumors, but some of the details do not align with previous leaks. In a more recent report, it was claimed that the external screen would be more like 5.25 inches, which is smaller than the 5.4 inches found on the iPhone 13 mini. The design would seem to be wider than it is tall, both folded and unfurled, much like the first Pixel Fold.
But one of the key question marks remains whether Apple has been able to overcome the crease issue, common to all existing foldable smartphones. Initially, leaks suggested that Apple was able to overcome this issue, but later reports seem to indicate that this may not be the case.
Why a Foldable iPhone Faces an Uphill Battle
The crease on the display has always been one of the issues with existing foldable smartphones, and overcoming this problem may give Apple an edge.
There are some rumors about an “invisible” under-panel camera in the foldable screen, but the images from Prosser show conventional hole-punched cameras.
Although a perfectly executed foldable iPhone may be a reality, there are many questions that arise as to the consumer acceptance of such a product. A look at the latest news from Apple and its recent offerings in the iPhone Air line is a cautionary tale.
Although it is a marvel of technology and offers remarkable miniaturization, which may be a look ahead to future offerings, such as smart glasses, the thin iPod has badly bombed. There may not even be an Air 2 next year.
Instead, consumers have been drawn to the more conventional iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models with more cameras and longer battery life than the extremely thin Air model. This is a similar reaction from consumers who were let down by previous models such as the iPhone mini and iPhone Plus variants that introduced new unique selling points.
The foldable iPhone may command a premium price point, going above $2,000. However, whether or not consumers find the utility to warrant that price remains to be seen. As prestigious as the iPhone name is, Apple knows all too well that an optimal balance must always be considered when it comes to innovative but unconventional designs.
Assessing the Credibility of Apple’s Foldable iPhone Rumors
Prosser is part of a line of people who have been bringing Apple secrets into the open well in advance of any announcement by Apple.
Apple leaker Mark Gurman of Bloomberg and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo have had a long history of providing accurate information about Apple, but rendering everything in 3D as done by Prosser takes leaker culture to a whole other level. This is partly due to Apple’s notoriously closed-off culture.
The legal heat has not gagged him, and his Christmas Eve unveiling got close to 300,000 hits in two days, an indication his fans are hungry for such pre-launch looks into the future from Apple.
Whether such a foldable iPhone comes to fruition as claimed only time will tell. However, looking at past precedents, one can gather that Prosser’s credibility lends credibility to all such fanfare surrounding the new device. Apple enthusiasts and detractors alike are eagerly waiting to witness whether Apple can produce a foldable phone that other manufacturers could not.
