Tinder is one of the most celebrated and popular dating platforms across the globe and it has recently showered its users with new features and updates that make online dating even better and more fun, to be honest. According to recent reports, Tinder will now let its users add videos to their dating profiles which, the company says, will offer a more authentic way for users to express themselves before anyone swipes right on them.
It is quite evident with the features that Tinder is rolling out for its users, that the company is expanding its portfolio and offering the best online dating abilities to its users. Last fall, the company launched its video chat feature where Tinder matches could enjoy the facility to video chat after they match to keep things interesting and fun on the dating application.
Having said that, starting today, Tinder users will be able to add video clips on their dating profiles for others to see and judge accordingly. Everyone knows the truth about photoshopped images and even the Supreme Court agrees that pictures can be deceiving. Videos, on the other hand, offer a much better or rather, authentic way of expressing oneself.
Anyhow, it is not just videos that Tinder has offered its users as a feature update. As mentioned in a report by Engadget, the dating platform has also added another feature for its users called “Hot Takes”. This new feature allows users, for the first time, to let users talk before they are matched. This is one of the biggest, most fundamental changes that Tinder has added to its platform since its launch. Hot Takes lets unmatched users talk in a short time countdown before they swipe each other left or right. When the timer runs out, unmatched users can choose whether to match with the person or move on to the next one.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a tough phase for dating and let us all agree, online dating is no match for the thrill and excitement of going out on coffee dates with your matches. Thus, many people have sort of become ‘anti-social’ in these times of the pandemic and Tinder is doing everything in its power to make things interesting for you again. The company is aiming to keep its users engaged on the platform by launching these new features like adding videos on profiles, Hot Takes, and the upcoming Explore feature. This new feature will allow users to explore potential matches based on passions and categories that they fall under.
Tinder is for seeking love but most of them use it to seek hook-ups, one thing or another, the platform wants its users to stay engaged.
