Toyota has dropped a shadowy teaser that’s already sending the performance world into detective mode. The automaker confirmed that three all-new sports models will debut together on December 4, setting up one of the most anticipated reveals of the year. From the outlines alone, we’re looking at a new Lexus sports coupe, a road-going Toyota GR GT supercar, and a GT3-spec race machine built for pure competition.
A New Era for Lexus Performance
The left silhouette in the teaser appears to be Lexus’ long-rumored sports coupe, likely the production evolution of the Lexus Sport Concept showcased in August and again at the Japan Mobility Show. The stance is unmistakably a two-door GT, and the slim, futuristic light signature hints at continuity with the concept.
While Lexus has kept details locked down, the biggest shift is under the skin. What was once expected to be a fully electric flagship now seems poised to run a hybrid V8 derived from Toyota’s GR program. This setup would give Lexus its most emotional powertrain in years, positioned as a successor to the LC rather than a spiritual sequel to the LFA. The model is rumored to arrive in 2026 with refinements to the concept’s cabin and a slightly toned-down exterior treatment for production realities.
The Toyota GR GT: A Supercar With Serious Intent
At the center of the teaser sits the main attraction: Toyota’s upcoming GR GT supercar. The brand has already confirmed its debut through a Japanese TV spot, and the glimpses match earlier prototypes—long hood, muscular proportions, and a clean rear profile capped with a full-width LED bar.
Inside, Toyota isn’t hiding much anymore. Earlier previews show a driver-focused cabin with a wide infotainment display, physical controls, and carbon fiber bucket seats. The numbers may be even more dramatic. The GR GT is confirmed to run a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 paired with a self-charging hybrid system. The combustion engine alone is expected to push around 800 horsepower, making this the most powerful Toyota ever built and a modern echo of the V10-powered Lexus LFA’s philosophy: no compromises, just raw driving emotion.
A GT3 Racecar Ready for Battle
To complete the trio, Toyota is preparing a track-only monster that mirrors the GR GT’s proportions but wears full racing armor. This GT3-bound machine echoes what we saw in spy shots and the prototype that stormed up Goodwood earlier this year: vented fenders, a fixed rear wing, aggressive aero, side-exit exhausts, and a slammed stance made for nothing but lap times.
This model is expected to enter international GT3 championships as a production-based successor to the 2022 GR GT3 concept, giving Toyota a serious contender in one of the world’s most competitive racing classes.
Countdown to the Big Reveal
Toyota will present all three models during a global livestream on December 4. President Akio Toyoda and Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries will host the event, setting the stage for a performance-heavy future across both Toyota and Lexus.
The message is clear: Toyota isn’t tiptoeing around electrification or performance—it’s going all in.
