Lalit Singh, added, “It is our shared goal with Bertelsmann to bridge this gap to empower people with the necessary digital skills of the future that will allow them to successfully advance in their careers and shape the future, which is why we are excited to move forward with about this next phase of the process.”

Gabriel Dalporto, CEO of Udacity said, “Bertelsmann and Udacity share a commitment to train new talent and diversify the talent pool in these three exciting fields. I’m confident that the Bertelsmann Scholarship Program will empower learners to master new skills and land some of the most exciting and in-demand jobs available today!”

Thomas Rabe, Chairman and CEO, Bertelsmann, said, “Bertelsmann has set itself the goal of becoming the most technologically advanced media, services, and education company. We are particularly looking at opportunities in the fields of Cloud, Data, and Artificial Intelligence. We consider it our responsibility to empower as many people as possible to be successful in the digital world, and to support policymakers in this.”

Thomas Rabe, added, “The continuing-education initiatives that we carried out in cooperation with Udacity and Google in the past met with great interest – which is why we are awarding more scholarships than ever before over the next three years: around 50,000.”
