11 December, 2015, Gurgaon: Urbanclap, a Gurgaon based startup, popularly known for market place services has won the trust of one of the country’s business tycoons Ratan Tata. The company has received undisclosed funding from Tata Group in its recent round of funding.

Urbanclap ventured into the market in the year 2014 and was jointly founded by Varun Khaitan, Raghav Chandra and Abhiraj Bhal. It deals in two types service models, standardise blue collared services such as electricians and home cleaning and white collared services such as photographers, interior designer, yoga instructors etc.

Speaking on the development, one of the founders, Abhiraj Bhal says, ““We are glad to have  Ratan N Tata come onboard UrbanClap as an investor. His experience over decades, in building enterprises Indian’s trust, will be invaluable for us, as we build out a trusted services marketplace.”

With the operations in Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Pune, company is planning to utalise the raised funds to spread its wings in 25 other cities.
