According to a recent business report from developer Frontier, their upcoming real-time strategy game Warhammer Age Of Sigmar has been delayed until late 2023. The plan was to release it in 2023, and it still is, but in the results report they announce, the place is within a year. The recently upcoming Warhammer Age of Sigmar RTS has been delayed until the end of 2023.
The real-time strategy game will be based on the Sigma tabletop fighting game of the Warhammer era, replacing Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Age of Sigmar was quietly announced in a 2020 investor presentation is a bit of an exaggeration. It was not even officially announced – it was revealed in a short advertisement in a 2020 Investor Relations message, which at the time indicated the release window for the company’s fiscal year 2023. There’s a lot to look forward to with many new releases for Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar. Following recent news from Sigwald the Magnificent, GW is planning a new Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battletome for Chaos fans and the hedonists of Slaanesh. The game was originally slated for a “Calendar 2023” release, but is now slated “later in the same calendar year, falling into exercise 24,” Frontier said in a recent statement. Players who felt that Age of Sigmar was not up to the mark may want to return to the table and take on new challenges.
Unfortunately, Age of Sigmar players will have to wait a little more than a year for their undeclared Battletome. It’s unclear how the Warhammer The Old World release will fit into the GW lineup. Warner Bros., New Line Productions, and Middle Earth Enterprises may be running out of license for Middle Earth Strategy Battles. However, according to this new rumor, it was supposed to happen towards the end of 2022. Game delays are not uncommon, and the list of deferred games in 2022 has grown over the years, comparable to games released in 2022.
