01 February 2017, India:
Gurgaon-based dating app, Woo, announced on Tuesday that it had formally signed an agreement to acquire DUS, a Los Angeles-based dating app focussed on the South Asian community.
As a part of the deal, Woo will acquire DUS’s platform and brand to increase its foothold in the US, one of the largest markets for the online dating industry, along with UK and Canada.
Woo connects you with like-minded people with interests and lifestyles similar to yours. It’s just like running into that perfect stranger you would hit it off with at a friend’s dinner party and discovering how much you have in common! A space to have real conversations and spark off a real connection.

Commenting on the acquisition, Sumesh Menon, Co-Founder of Woo said, “I am confident that DUS’ acquisition will help accelerate our outreach to Indians globally. While originally designed for India alone we quickly realized that our platform had a global appeal and was already favored by Indians internationally to form a strong connect back to their homeland.
Dus helps South Asian singles a dating platform to find other South Asians. Its founders include Indian-Canadian comedian and YouTube personality Jus Reign who will continue to promote and support Woo in the future, said Menon.
