August 17 2015, Bangalore : Bangalore based Yourstory media has raised funding from Kalaari Capital with participation of Ratan Tata,  T V Mohandas Pai and Qualcomm Ventures. The news was posted by Shradha Sharma, founder and chief editor of Yourstory, on her website this morning.The company is launching a tech product that will help people to write, talk and view their own stories in native Indian languages.

According to news from Techcircle.in the investment is somewhere between $3 million and $5 million (Rs 20-32.5 crore). Vani Kola of Kalaari capital has joined the board of Yourstory following the investment.

Youstory was launched in October 2008 and this is the first round of external funding for the company.  According to Techcircle, Yourstory is said to have ended FY15 with revenues of around Rs 5 crore.

This funding is another sign that investors are interested in investing in digital content companies. Earlier this year VCCircle, digital media company that covers deals in the Indian startup space, was acquired by News Corp.
