14th March 2016,  California : Skype updated Skype for Web with exciting new features today. This service now lets you the freedom of calling mobile phones and landlines, surf and watch YouTube videos, add non-Skype users, and get notifications.

Skype for Web was launched in June 2015. It is the browser version of Skype wherein You’ll be able to access your Skype contacts and conversations that too without downloading the app.
Skype for Web service is mainly compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.

You can make a call to mobile phones or landlines from the browser, all you need is a subscription or Skype credit. Then sign in, click on the phone call tab, pick a number and call, That Easy!
Watching YouTube videos too seems an easy task on Skype Web browser. You also get all the same features like volume and full-screen controls you have in YouTube.

Now you can double the fun of chatting by inviting friends by sharing them a unique conversation URL. Anyone who gets the link will be able to join your chat, and surprisingly they don’t need even need to have a Skype account to join the fun.

This is not all but Skype for Web now has notifications as well. You’ll be notified for instant messages and calls, as long as you’re signed into Skype for Web, even if you’re browsing in the other window or app. Now that’s what an update should be like!
