Mercedes-Benz India always keeps itself busy with new launches one after another. As we prepare for the launch of the new C-Class this week, the automaker has already announced the launch of its first estate in the country, the E-Class All-Terrain on September 28.
The E-Class All-Terrain is based on the normal wheelbase E-Class but with a different upper body. Because of the stretched rear end, it has a massive 640 liters of boot space which can be expanded to 1,820 liters by folding the rear seats. The Estate sits on 19-inch alloys and has cladding at bottoms to live up to the name, “All-Terrain”.

With the large body and plenty of boot space, you also get luxurious interior similar to the E-Class sedan. The Estate gets the same Comand infotainment system, air suspension, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, and an electrically operated tailgate. However, it does lack the convenience features available at the rear seat of the sedan.

The Indian market will get the All-Terrain with only the E220d variant with the OM654 engine. It produces 194hp and 400Nm of torque and comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels using Mercedes’ 4Matic system.
The OM654 is designed to be BS-VI-compliant while still running on BS-IV fuel. The E-Class All-Terrain can be driven in five different drive modes on offer including an ‘All-Terrain’ mode that activates all the off-road settings.
After the launch of the Estate, Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch the new G63 AMG in India on October 5.
