After numerous leaks and teasers, BMW has finally taken the wraps off the new 2019 Z4. Though the company has not revealed all details of the car’s range, the debutant version is the inline-six-powered M40i trim with special First Edition spec.
The new Z4 looks much better and modern with a retro touch. The big change in the car is the new soft-top replacing the retractable roof in the old Z4. The overall look of the car is fresh and much appealing than the outgoing one. Though it has always been considered as the Audi TT rival, it could now take on the likes of the Porsche Boxster and the Mercedes-Benz SLC too.
The Z4 M40i that has been revealed features a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that churns out 335 horsepower, enough to push the roadster from standstill to 98 km/h (60 mph) in about 4.4 seconds. The First Edition comes with adaptive dampers, MSport brakes, and an electronically controlled rear differential. BMW hasn’t revealed all the details about the car yet and will make us wait for that until September 18.
The interior of the First Edition model features Vernasca black leather trim with decorative stitching, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, and the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System. Adaptive LED headlights, BMW Head-Up Display featured for the first time in a BMW roadster.
The Z4 will go on sale in spring 2019 with the 30i variant. And the hotter M40i will hit the showrooms in the second quarter of the year.
