Among the new devices, there were two new Google Pixel 3 smartphones, the Pixel Slate tablet, and a new Google home hub. The one thing which was not unveiled was the rumored Google Pixel Watch.

So, what exactly is the Pixel Watch? Earlier this year, the first news about the Pixel smartwatch was revealed by a famous technology leaker, Evan bass, in which he tweeted:

“The Pixel Watch would be the culmination of everything the computing giant has learned since Android Wear launched back in 2014, Google was expected to roll up its sleeves and get stuck into the smartwatch market on its terms, going watch face-to-watch face with Apple and Samsung.”

Similarly, the Pixel phones and some of the Nexus Devices were mainly used as a “reference” devices for the Android Operating System platform, and also to control the end-to-end user experience.

Previously, according to the rumors, Google used – Triton, Sardine, and Ling – codenames for the three variants of the Pixel Watch.

In spite of the numerous rumors that Google was planning to release a Pixel Watch at its ‘Made by Google’ event, the company officials came out with the statement that it has no plans to launch any of the smartwatches this year.

Miles Barr, Google’s director of engineering for Wear OS, told in a report:

“To think of a one-size-fits-all watch, I don’t think we’re there yet,” Barr said. “Our focus is on our partners for now.”
