Harrier is the first vehicle to sport the IMPACT Design 2.0 philosophy. It’s a five seater SUV and looks like a big brother of the Nexon. It carries the similar cool front face with more muscle on the bumpers. From the rear three-quarter, you can see a little glimpse of the Land Rover Discovery’s design.

Tata says the Harrier will have thoughtfully and intelligently designed plush interiors, future ready connectivity and best-in-class infotainment. The monocoque SUV is engineered on the new generation ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture which is based on the legendary Land Rover D8 architecture and developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover.

There is no official word on the engines of the Harrier but it is most likely to get 2.0-liter BS-VI ready diesel engine. The gearbox options will be six-speed manual and Hyundai-sourced six-speed automatic. A seven-seater version of the car will be added in the lineup later on.

On the occasion, Mr Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “We have been receiving a tremendous response from the customers ever since we opened bookings of the Harrier. With the all-new assembly line ready and the roll out of the 1st Harrier, we are now gearing up to start deliveries in early 2019. We are confident that the Harrier will set new benchmarks in the SUV segment, in 2019.”

The Tata Harrier will take on the heavily popular competitors like the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and Renault Capture.
