Google says they are working on a fix which will easing major Pixel 6 features

Per the user complaints, a Google Images update deleted one of the Pixel 6’s key features: the Magic Eraser tool, which allows you to eliminate undesired items or people from your photos. If you downloaded the impacted version (5.67, according to Android Central), don’t worry: Google is working on a remedy.

While the version of Photos with the Magic Eraser deleted does not appear to be accessible in the Play Store anymore, its appearance on APK Mirror proves that it was formerly available (though we do not advocate installing it).

According to one user, despite the fact that the item removal option is no longer available in the program, the broken version displayed a tip about it.

Google spokesperson Alex Moriconi shared a claim saying, “discovered a problem early in the launch of [its] recent Photos update and will provide a patch shortly.” Google also claims that the issue didn’t affect everyone, which is consistent with our observations – two Verge staff members using Pixel 6s reported that they didn’t get any Google Photos updates but were still able to use Magic Eraser.

While it appears that the update is no longer being distributed, it’s understandable why those who received it would be surprised to discover Magic Eraser absent – it was one of Google’s primary selling points when the phone was released around a month ago.

Furthermore, the lack of a function meant to wipe items adds dramatic irony, as Android Central’s title “Google magically erases Magic Eraser” mocks.

However, given the tiny amount of posts regarding the issue, it should not have a significant impact on you. If it does, keep an eye out for an update to Google Photos; assistance is reportedly on the way.
