Sony Reports Decline In PS Plus Subscriber Count

Sony Interactive Entertainment recently announced in its first-quarter fiscal year 2022 report that the number of PS Plus subscribers has declined for the first time. Loss comes from Sony’s recent financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022 showing a huge drop in PlayStation Plus subscriptions in the last quarter.

Sony’s fiscal 2022 first-quarter earnings report shows that the PS Plus now has 46.3 million subscribers, down 1.3 million from the last record of 47.6 million. Overall, 47.4 million subscribers were down 200,000 year-over-year, although this was the second time Sony PlayStation Plus subscribers fell between two quarters, the last in the first quarter of fiscal 2022. Sony has announced the total number of PlayStation Plus subscribers. According to Sony’s financial results released on Tuesday, it was 47.4 million as of March 2022, a decrease of 600,000 month-on-month (December 2021) and a decrease of 200,000 year-on-year.

Sony reported that for the last quarter of Sony’s fiscal year, for the three months ending March 31, 2022, there were 47.4 million active PS Plus users. The popularity of Sony PS Plus has grown steadily in recent years, with Sony registering a staggering 47.6 million PlayStation Plus users as of spring 2021. According to a recent report, PlayStation is struggling to retain PS Plus subscribers, with subscriptions dropping significantly in recent months. According to Sony’s latest financial report, PS Plus is still gaining momentum, although subscriber numbers fluctuate.

PS Plus is losing over a million subscribers between Q4 2021 and Q1 2022, according to new data. While around 600,000 isn’t that much compared to the 47.4 million remaining PlayStation Plus subscribers, yes, it’s a noticeable drop in subscribers. the drop doesn’t seem to be as big when compared with the total number of subscribers that the service has. The number of PlayStation Plus subscribers isn’t the only drop, with PlayStation Network as a whole dropping nearly five million active users.

Also, PlayStation Plus saw a drop in the number of active users, defined as the total number of unique accounts expected to play or log in to the PlayStation Network on a daily basis. Sony also confirmed in its annual report that the number of active users of PlayStation Plus decreased between January 1 and March 31, 2022. The monetary impact of the 2021 exercise on Sony reports that the PS Plus had 47.4 million subscribers in March 2022, down from 600,000 in the first quarter ended December 2021, and 200,000 year-over-year. According to Sony’s current first-quarter earnings report, Sony’s user base is 46.3 million, which means the loss of more than 1 million customers.
