SRK has come out as the celebrity who has paid maximum tax for the financial year 2023-2024 by paying an enormous sum of ₹92 crore in taxes. ₹92 crore! Now we will look into the details of how SRK became the king of taxes in India.

SRK’s Blockbuster Year

As for 2023, it was a dynamic year for Shah Rukh Khan. SRK returned to the big screen after five years and the boy, it wasn’t a comeback to be missed out on. His first film release of the year was Pathaan which was nothing less than a storm in the theaters grossing over a 1000 crore.

Of course, SRK was not done yet and just when people had tasted yet another blockbuster, he came up with his next biggie – Jawan. This too crossed the ₹1000 crore mark proving that SRK’s charm is as old as wine, it just keeps getting better with years. And if that wasn’t enough, his year-end release, Dunki, grossed easily more than ₹500 crores. What a way to end the year, if you want to wake up feeling on top of the world.

These three mega-hits not only made SRK the darling of millions but also contributed impressively to the government’s exchequer. He has paid ₹ 92 crore as taxes, making him the biggest tax-payer of the financial year in the celebrity category in India.

Who’s Following King Khan?

Although SRK remains firmly securely on the throne thanks to his tax savings efforts, he isn’t the only party causing a stir in the tax arena. The next one is the south sensation Thalapathy Vijay who has paid a whopping amount of taxes equivalent to ₹80 crore. It was not only the movies that Vijay made which turned out to be blockbusters but also his brand endorsements and other businesses.

Second in line is none other than Bollywood’s Bhaijaan, Salman Khan, who deposited ₹75 crore in taxes. Salman still makes big money from his movies and endorsements; it means the fans still love him. Following her closely is the legendary Amitabh Bachchan who paid ₹71 crore. From this preview alone, Big B is still teaching everyone the basics of good acting as well as up-to-date tax computation!

Coming in at fifth is the ex-Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, who contributed ₹66 crore towards taxes. Little did anyone know that a powerful shot making sixes in the cricket field also means formulating a large chunk to the national tax collection? Perhaps that is why he keeps smiling – he understands that he finally has a chance of being a part of Team India beyond the sports fields!

The Celebrity Tax Squad

Besides these five, there are others who are among the most generous stars of 2024 in terms of taxes paid. Some of the well-known B-Town celebrities embraced in the reality show are Ajay Devgn, the Action Star of Bollywood; Ranbir Kapoor, the chocolate hero; Hrithik Roshan, the Greek God of Bollywood; Kapil Sharma, the Comedy King; and the irresistible Miss Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Let alone Shahid Kapoor and the evergreen Mohanlal of South Industry.

But wait, former cricketers like MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly &SachinTendulkar are also in the list of top 15. It’s like watching a glamorous cricket match on the ground which is actually filled with tax documents and the boundary is as far as one’s wallet can go.

Conclusion

It is commendable that Shah Rukh Khan is the highest tax paying actor that uses his hard work, business skills to pay taxes for the growth of the nation. For most of us the figures will remain dreams of a distant reality that we may never encounter in our banking balance, but it is fine to know that our beloved actors and sports personalities are also shining citizens.
