The Onigiri Sprite is one of the newest collectibles in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Added with the September 3, 2026 update, this small Sprite is shaped like a Japanese rice ball and comes from the community’s Design-A-Sprite contest.

How to Find the Onigiri Sprite
The easiest way to get the Onigiri Sprite is to search Chests around the island. Sprites can appear as loot, so opening as many Chests as possible gives you more chances to find one. There is no single guaranteed location, so keep searching instead of staying in one spot.
You can improve your chances by landing at points of interest (POIs) with plenty of loot. Sunken Shores, Heatwave Harbor, Green Hill Zone, Lifty Lodge, and The Battlewoods are useful places to search.
Use Cheat Codes
Cheat Codes are another way to obtain the Onigiri Sprite. During matches, you can find Cheat Codes and enter them to receive Sprite-related rewards.
Do not confuse these Cheat Codes with Lobby Hack codes. They serve different purposes. Lobby Hack codes are used from the main lobby and can provide Cheat Master Sprites, Sprite Dust, and experience. Regular Cheat Codes found during gameplay are the ones relevant to finding Sprites.
Defeat Other Players
Sometimes the quickest way to get a Sprite is to take it from another player. If an opponent has an Onigiri Sprite, eliminating them can give you the opportunity to collect it.
Bosses can also be worth fighting. Hush, found at Reality’s Reign, is associated with Gold Sprites, so defeating her can potentially give you a stronger variant. Be prepared for a fight, because going after a boss can attract other players.
Trade With Friends
Fortnite also allows players to trade Sprites, giving you another option if your own searches are unlucky. If a friend has an Onigiri Sprite and wants something you own, you can arrange a trade. This is useful for collecting specific Sprites without relying entirely on random loot.
Remember that trading away a Sprite means you may need Sprite Dust to summon it again.
What Does the Onigiri Sprite Do?
The Onigiri Sprite has a mobility-focused power. After you eat or drink a consumable, it applies the Overdrive effect. This helps you move around the island faster.
The effect becomes more valuable as you level up the Sprite.
Onigiri Sprite Variants
The September 3 update introduced several versions of the Onigiri Sprite.
The currently listed variants include:
- Onigiri Sprite
- Cheat Master Onigiri Sprite
- Gold Onigiri Sprite
- Loot Hacker Onigiri Sprite
The Cheat Master version combines the base power with correct Cheat Code inputs, while the Gold version provides a three-times bonus to elimination XP. The Loot Hacker version does not yet have fully confirmed ability details.
A Community-Created Sprite
Epic Games originally planned to add Enorull’s Bullet Sprite as one of the Design-A-Sprite winners. However, on August 31, Epic announced that the Bullet design would be replaced by Enorull’s Onigiri Sprite.
Best Way to Get Onigiri
For most players, the simplest strategy is to combine Chest searching with Cheat Codes. Land somewhere with plenty of loot, search efficiently, and keep moving. If you see another player carrying the Sprite, you can also try to eliminate them and claim it.
If you have a friend who already owns Onigiri, trading may be the least frustrating option. Once you obtain it, keep using it and leveling it to get more value from its Overdrive ability.
