08 May 2017, India:

Jeff Bezos-led Amazon is once again in the news for wrong reasons. A distorted, inaccurate map is being sold on Amazon.ca and BJP Spokesperson Tajinder Pal S Bagga first spotted it.

This is not the first time Amazon Canada has done something which will provoke the feelings of Indians. Last year in January, Amazon Canada sold doormats which had a picture of Indian Map on it. Sushma Swaraj addressed the issue and stated, “Amazon must tender an unconditional apology,” Swaraj tweeted. “They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately… If this is not done forthwith, we will not grant Indian visa to any Amazon official. We will also rescind the visas issued earlier.”

@SushmaSwaraj Madam. Amazon Canada must be censured and warned not to sell India flag doormats. Please take action. pic.twitter.com/td4KXlDUQL

Amazon did not apologize but discreetly took down the product from their website. The company continued to sell doormats with US and British flags.
