Bentley has turned the clock forward while honoring a century-old legacy. A hundred years after the original Super Sports broke the 100 mph barrier, the brand has unveiled its most focused road car to date: the new Continental GT Supersports. Only 500 will exist, each individually numbered, each designed to blend pure performance with handcrafted luxury.
A New Chapter for Bentley Performance
This isn’t just another Continental with more power. Bentley calls the Supersports its most driver-centric road car ever, and it shows in the fundamentals. The company has ditched all-wheel drive for the first time in a modern GT and trimmed the car to under two tonnes. Under the long hood sits a 666 PS twin-turbo V8, officially the most powerful production V8 ever built in Crewe.
Speaking about the car’s intent, Bentley CEO Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser said the Supersports represents a return to “more extreme cars with true driver engagement.” In plain terms, Bentley wants its halo GT to feel alive again.
Engineering for Emotion, Not Just Numbers
The spec sheet is impressive on its own 800 Nm of torque, 0–62 mph in 3.7 seconds, and a projected 192 mph top speed. But what Bentley is really pushing here is feel. Engineers tuned the chassis, steering, and balance specifically for rear-wheel-drive behavior.
The hardware backing that philosophy is serious. Akrapovič titanium exhaust, carbon-ceramic brakes, and forged 22-inch Manthey Racing wheels all contribute to sharper responses and weight reduction.
Design That Works as Hard as It Looks
Bentley’s designers leaned into the aerodynamics brief with intent. The new bumper, dive planes, and exposed carbon elements aren’t just for show; they manage airflow around a car designed to be pushed harder than any Continental before it.
Inside, Bentley has gone all-in on a two-seat, driver-first layout. Lightweight sports seats sit lower and offer a more race-like position. The mix of leather, Dinamica, and carbon fiber sets the tone. Contrast stitching, Dark Chrome details, and the 000/500 plaque underline the rarity.
Mulliner Personalization and Exclusive Design Themes
Every Supersports is built by hand in Crewe and can be personalized to the nth degree. Buyers get 24 exterior colors, several interior themes, and a wide range of finish options. These options span everything from gloss carbon to engine-turned aluminum. Bentley is also debuting two new design themes: Nightfall and Daybreak. Each one showcases a different side of the car’s personality, from stealthy aggression to bright technical precision.
Continuing a Historic Lineage
The Supersports badge dates back to 1925. Later generations in 2009 and 2017 carried the performance torch for their eras. The 2026 version, nicknamed Project Mildred in honor of pioneering racer Mildred Mary Petre, pushes that lineage into a more emotional, enthusiast-driven direction.
Production starts in late 2026, and Bentley plans to begin deliveries in early 2027 across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. With this car, Bentley shows where performance luxury is headed next, not just how fast a GT can go.
