Record-Breaking Car Sales: A Milestone Year

A remarkable 15,721 vehicles under the BMW and MINI brands were delivered by BMW Group India in 2024. The BMW brand, which produced 15,012 units, and MINI, which produced a respectable 709 units, were the main drivers of this incredible accomplishment. The company’s peak sales occurred during the October–December period, when 4,958 units were sold, representing a 15% increase over the same quarter the year before. In particular, December 2024 was an exceptional month, with 2,244 units sold, the greatest monthly sales ever recorded and an astounding 17% year-over-year increase.

Luxury Class Takes the Spotlight

BMW’s Luxury Class offerings, including the BMW 7 Series, BMW i7, BMW X7, and BMW XM, emerged as showstoppers in 2024. These premium models collectively sold 2,507 units, contributing nearly 20% to the company’s total car sales. The BMW X7, in particular, retained its crown as the highest-selling Luxury Class model, with over 5,000 units delivered since its launch. This exceptional performance underscores BMW’s dominance in the ultra-luxury segment, catering to a discerning clientele seeking unparalleled sophistication and performance.

Electric Mobility: Leading the Charge

BMW Group India is at the forefront of ecologically friendly electric car technology. Being the first luxury car manufacturer in India to supply over 3,000 EVs, it set a benchmark for the industry. In 2024 alone, the company supplied 1,249 fully electric BMW and MINI automobiles. With 384 of them delivered, the BMW i7 became the best-selling EV in its class. Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, stated, “We continue to lead the charge in sustainable mobility with our product offensive and remain the most desirable choice for luxury EVs.”

Beyond just its goods, BMW is dedicated to sustainability in its business practices, supporting international initiatives to lower carbon emissions and advance green technologies.

Two-Wheelers on a High Gear

Delivering 8,301 motorcycles in 2024 was the most successful year in the history of BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division of the BMW Group. With 1,041 sold, the brand’s fully developed bike offering also reached new heights. This increase in demand is a result of BMW Motorrad’s attraction to Indian adventure and high-end bikers, which broadens the group’s product line.

Innovative Customer-Centric Strategies

BMW Group India’s success is not just about products; it is also about the experiences it creates. The introduction of Retail.NEXT, a forward-thinking retail initiative, and bespoke services has transformed the buying and ownership journey for customers. These initiatives cater to the evolving preferences of India’s luxury consumers, offering personalized and immersive experiences. From digital showrooms to tailored financing options, BMW has redefined the touchpoints of luxury car ownership.

A Legacy of Manufacturing Excellence

BMW India’s operational strength is anchored by its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Chennai. This facility, complemented by a parts warehouse in Pune and a training center in Gurgaon NCR, ensures seamless integration of global standards with local production. The company’s robust dealer network spans major metropolitan areas, making luxury and innovation accessible to customers across India.
