After much speculation and rumors, Infinity Ward officially revealed the first information about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, which is this year’s Call of Duty game. After confirming in recent months that the new main series title will be the much-discussed reboot of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Activision is finally showing us the logo of the game. Not to be confused with 2009’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, a small video teaser was posted on Call of Duty’s official social media handles showing the logo of the upcoming game with the caption “Call of Duty’s new era – Infinity Ward officially announced.” logo for this year’s Call of Duty game, which will be this year’s Call of Duty game Modern Warfare 2, which will be Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has been officially unveiled by developer Infinity Ward, who at the same time had the opportunity to share the official logo for the new game due to be released in late 2022, although at the moment they do not have official details on this. Following an unusual move for the franchise, the information has now been confirmed: Infinity Ward briefed media representatives on their plans for the next COD, along with the new version of Warzone that will be released alongside it.
According to an Infinity Ward community briefing, Infinity Ward is building a brand new Warzone experience from the ground up, and the upcoming COD will be used by the new engine to avoid similar issues across its ecosystem. Since Infinity Ward released Modern Warfare 2019, Infinity Ward has been working on the next COD, which has given it a nice three-year innovation cycle, so the event will see some nice additions such as storytelling options (hopefully more Detail). Deeper than our previous “choose whether to torture prisoners” option the guns sometimes get stuck, allowing you to actually put yourself on the creek without a paddle.
According to further reports from Tom Henderson, the next COD will be tougher than Modern Warfare 2019, which has long been closer to realism than Call of Duty, with missions like cleaning houses featuring realistic room evictions and night vision. The game has been in development for a long time, and previous reports suggest it is in alpha testing.

In terms of release, we can expect the game to debut around October 2022, however, Activision has yet to make a clear statement on this. Previous leaks hinting at something coming later this month should tell us in detail about the game’s offering and how it will affect the future of the franchise. Activision had no hesitation in stating that the game would feature notable innovative elements that would be “revolutionary” for the franchise.
Since we already have his new logo, one would think the real gameplay reveal would happen sooner rather than later. However, despite this, we do know that NFL players have been playing the game in the last week or so, which could mean we’ll get some impressions and a trailer sooner or later. All we have at the moment is a name, a logo, and a few unconfirmed rumors that we’ll see Task Force 141 take on a drug cartel in Colombia.
Apart from the logo and a clear indication of the existence of Task Force 141 in the game, there are not many details related to the game at this time. While this doesn’t have to be a secret, revealing the game’s logo would make it more official. The game’s signature style is a sleek and simple logo that goes well with the overall vibe of one of the biggest franchises today, so I’m not mad about it. Activision itself is expected to bring this year’s Call of Duty to the public in the coming weeks, as it has already shown parts of the game to potential NFL draft clients in Las Vegas, hinting at an imminent explosive announcement.
The official Call of Duty account simply tweeted a hashtag with the title of the game, a picture of its logo in Modern Warfare’s signature green tint, and a phrase that said the series was entering “a new era.” Fans of the original Modern Warfare games would be happy to know about this, but they must have seen it happen a mile away as there have been a lot of leaks online lately. Vanguard, the latest entry in the line of traditional Call of Duty games, hasn’t been a huge success, and its ongoing standalone battle royale game, despite just starting a new season, seems to be stuck in limbo due to a proper sequel is scheduled to open later this year.
