Ford has reopened the order banks for the next wave of reservation holders of the Ford F-150 Lightning all-electric pickup. However, the prices of the Lariat Standard Range and Platinum versions have been adjusted upwards by $1,500 and $1,200, respectively. Ford attributed the price increase to current material costs, market factors, and supply chain constraints. Meanwhile, the prices of the Lariat Extended Range version and two XLT versions, SR and ER, will remain unchanged.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is a highly anticipated all-electric pickup truck that has generated a lot of interest since its debut. The truck has an impressive range of up to 300 miles on a single charge and can tow up to 10,000 pounds. The Lightning also has a host of innovative features such as an onboard generator that can power a house during an outage. The decision to increase prices for the Lariat Standard Range and Platinum versions may come as a disappointment to some reservation holders. However, Ford’s justification for the price increase is reasonable given the current market conditions. The global pandemic has caused a shortage of semiconductors, steel, and other raw materials, which has led to increased costs for automakers.

EV production

Ford is not alone in raising prices due to supply chain constraints. Other automakers, including General Motors and Stellantis, have also announced price increases for their vehicles. These price increases may be a temporary measure until the supply chain stabilizes, or they could be a long-term adjustment to reflect the increased costs of production.

Despite the price increase for some versions of the F-150 Lightning, the demand for the all-electric pickup truck remains strong. The F-150 Lightning is a key part of Ford’s strategy to electrify its vehicle lineup, and the company has already received over 150,000 reservations for the truck. The reopening of the order banks for the F-150 Lightning is a positive sign that Ford is making progress in bringing the all-electric pickup to market. Ford has announced the reopening of order banks for the next wave of reservation holders of the Ford F-150 Lightning all-electric pickup. The Lariat Extended Range version and two XLT versions remain the same, with no price changes. As for the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning MSRP price changes compared to the previous report, the Pro SR 18-inch version has seen a significant increase of $4,000 or 7.1% from $55,974 to $59,974.
