17 February, 2016, New Delhi: In its recent round of seed funding, smartphone gaming platform, Gamezop has managed to raise US $350K funding from Kwan and other investors. The round got concluded with the participation Snapdeal’s CPO Anand Chandrasekaran, redBus co-founder Phanindra Sama, US-based Powerhouse Ventures, TracxnLabs, Germany-based AECAL and Vinay Menon.
Gamezop is a brain child of two youngsters Yashash and Gaurav Agarwal. It deals in gathering interesting sets of games around the globe which can be played on single app. With this facility, the user can get rid of the option of installing the game and then uninstalling it once it gets completed.
Sharing his views on funding, Anirban Das Blah, MD, Kwan explained, “Our company has been looking for innovative gaming models for a while. Kwan is in the business of helping consumers find content and products that engage and entertain them. However, it amazed us that India didn’t have a compelling gaming product. Gamezop, we felt had the potential to be a game changer for the gaming industry in India. It wasn’t enough to work with them; we wanted and needed to be a part of their journey in a more meaningful way.”
Commenting on the development, Yashash Agarwal, CEO, Gamezop said, “Content-light platform plays have been most scalable in the digital consumption space. Popular forms of digital entertainment, such as music or videos, already have platforms that serve as one-stop destinations. However, in gaming one only hears of individual titles. We are building a platform to make gaming reach the inflection point that the others have already witnessed.”
