Govt-owned telecom equipment manufacturer ITI to provide cloud services

Indian Telephone Industries, which is a central government-owned manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, has now revealed cloud services and solutions platforms for the central and state government enterprises, public sector undertakings, banks, small and medium enterprises and startups in India.

The platform will be going to offer services that include the Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a service, software as a service and storage as a service, said the announcement.

ITI has partnered with the Bangalore based IT service provider Connectivity IT solutions to host cloud services at its data centers facility while the CS will even support the cloud infrastructure, technical manpower, research & development.

“The new cloud service offered by ITI data center is expected to provide end-to-end IT infrastructure, including new-age cloud services to all its customers in the coming years. The initiative also exhibits ITI’s commitment to the government of India’s flagship initiatives like Digital India, Make in India and Smart City,” said K. Alagesan, chairman and managing director, ITI.

The company revealed that its data centers are going to be equipped to operate, host and administer an authentication portal with services like the authentication user agency, authentication service agency and know your customer service agent on the SaaS model.
