Honor launched it’s flagship smartphone Honor View 20 in China on Wednesday. The smartphone will be launched in India next month. The smartphone is expected to be Amazon Exclusive in India.
The smartphone has a hole in display for front camera and it packs a 48 MP rear camera. Let’s take a look on what Honor View 20 offers.
Display
The Honor View 20 has a FullView display. It has a 6.4 inch FHD+ Display. It has 19.25:9 screen aspect ratio, which is quite long. The display has 2310×1080 pixels display.
The smartphone doesn’t have a Notch, but the display has a 4.5 mm display hole for front camera. The hole in display can cause light bleeding issue (although the company claims to use special construction message procedure to ensure more durability, less light bleed and better repairability).
It will be also interesting to see whether the display hole interferes in games like PUBG or not.
Processor
The Honor View 20 has the Huawei’s homegrown processor Kirin 980. Kirin 980 is built on 7 nm design. The smartphone has Mali-G76 MP10 GPU for graphical tasks.
RAM and Storage
The base variant has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB Internal Storage. The 8 GB RAM + 128 GB Internal Storage variant is also present. Then there is another variant which has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB Internal Storage.
Battery
Honor View 20 packs a big 4000 mAh battery. Despite of having a 4000 mAh, the smartphone doesn’t feel very heavy in hand.
Software
Normally Honor smartphones runs on Emotion UI (or EMUI). However, the View 20 runs on Magic UI. Honor introduced this UI with it’s another smartphone Honor Magic 2.
The smartphone runs on Magic UI on the top of Android Pie. The Magic UI looks similar to EMUI, however the scenario might change with further updates.
Camera
This might be the most talkative point of the smartphone. The smartphone has a 48 MP rear camera. Honor has used Sony IMX586 sensor for the rear camera. The pixel size on rear camera is 0.8 micron.
The company has added a 3D Time of Flight (TOF) sensor. The 3D sensor uses infrared light to determine the depth and precisely separate people from the background.
The smartphone has a 25 MP front camera which is placed in the 4.5 mm cutout in the display.
Other features
Honor has added a liquid cooling system to the smartphone to keep the smartphone cool intensive tasks. The company has named it as “NINE Cooling”. According to company, it has a nine layer thermal design and a PC-grade liquid cooling pipe.
Honor has also added additional WiFi band for better reception.
Price
The base variant of Honor View 20 (with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB Internal Storage) is priced at CNY 2999 (about $437 or about ₹30,700). The 8 GB RAM + 128 G Internal Storage variant is priced at CNY 3499 (about $510 or about ₹35,900). THE 8 GB RAM + 256 GB Internal Storage variant is priced at CNY 3999 (about $583 or about ₹40,100). The smartphone is available in China right now.
The smartphone will be launched globally on 22nd January in Paris. The smartphone is expected to come to India in next month. The smartphone is expected to be Amazon exclusive.
