Getting Started

Make sure you’re working on a Google Slides presentation before attempting any animation. Make a new presentation or open an old one if you haven’t previously.

Selecting the Appropriate Slide

Not every slide requires animation. Determine which parts of your content could benefit from animation to strengthen your point. Animation is usually effective for title slides, important points, and section transitions.

Getting to the Animation Options

Launch the Animation Window:

  • To animate a slide, click on it.
  • Click the menu at the top, then choose “Slide” > “Transition.”

Examine the Tab for Transition:

  • There will be a sidebar with multiple transition options that appears on the right.
  • Select a transition effect, then change the direction and speed as necessary.

Animated Items

Choose the Item:

  • To animate an item (text box, image, shape, etc.), click on it.

Obtain Animation Choices:

  • Click the “Transition” button located on the toolbar after the object has been selected.

Select an Animation Type:

  • There will be a menu where you may choose the kind of animation (fade, fly in, etc.).

Tailor Animation:

  • To fine-tune your animation, change the direction, duration, and other parameters.

Animations with a Sequence

Establish Order:

  • Open the Animation Pane to adjust the animation sequence.
  • Animations can be dragged and dropped into the desired order.

Duration and Delay:

  • To create a more seamless flow, use the Animation Pane to change the duration and add delays between animations.

Using Animations for Entry and Exit to Add Emphasis

Animated entrances:

  • Use entrance animations to highlight key components on the slide as soon as they appear.

Animations at Exit:

  • To avoid clutter, use exit animations to gently remove items from the slide.

Understanding Motion Paths

Choose an Item:

  • After selecting an object, select “Slide” > “Transition.”
  • Including a Motion Path
  • Choose a path that you want the object to follow under the “Motion” category.

Modify Route Selections:

  • Change the path’s direction, start and finish points, and other characteristics.

Showcasing and Improving Animations

Demonstrate Your Animation:

  • To view a preview of the animated slide, use the “Play” button located in the Animation Pane.

Adjust the Timing:

  • Modify the duration and pauses to guarantee a smooth presentation.

In conclusion, you can make dynamic and captivating presentations with Google Slides animation. You may effectively communicate your message and grab the attention of your audience by carefully choosing and customising animations. Try out various effects, but always remember that moderation is crucial. If you use too many animations, your material may become less clear. You’re prepared to make your presentations come to life with these pointers!
