Cube Sprites are a new collectible type added to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. They are connected to the season’s cube-themed content and are based on the mysterious Cube imagery that has appeared throughout Fortnite’s history. Unlike ordinary cosmetic collectibles, Sprites can provide gameplay benefits, making them useful during a match. They also fit naturally into the season’s wider Sprite collection system, giving players another long-term objective.
The Cube Sprite set launched on July 23, 2026, during the weekly New Sprite Day update. There are eight confirmed Cube Sprite variants to collect: Cube Earth, Cube Fire, Cube Fishy, Cube Punk, Cube Dream, Cube Boss, Cube Batman, and Cube Grim.
How to Find Cube Sprites
Finding Cube Sprites is mostly a matter of knowing which loot sources to search. Most variants can be obtained from chests, Sprite Chests, or special encounters. However, each Cube Sprite does not have exactly the same availability.
Here are the main ways to find them:
- Cube Earth, Cube Fire, and Cube Fishy can appear through random chests and overworld spawn locations.
- Cube Punk and Cube Dream are found in Sprite Chests.
- Cube Boss can be obtained by defeating NPC bosses.
- Cube Batman is obtained from Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, or Catwoman encounters.
- Cube Grim can appear in random chests and Sprite Chests, but it has a particularly low chance of appearing.
Because the loot system uses random chances, finding one specific variant may take several matches. Do not assume that landing in the same place repeatedly will guarantee a particular Cube Sprite.
Use Sprite Chests and the Sprite Locator
If your main goal is collecting Cube Sprites, Sprite Chests should be one of your priorities. These special containers are a more useful target than simply opening ordinary chests because several Cube variants are tied directly to them.
The Sprite Locator can make the search easier. This item helps you locate nearby Sprite-related chests, reducing the amount of time you spend searching the island without a clear direction. It is especially valuable when you are hunting difficult variants such as Cube Grim or trying to locate Sprite Chests quickly after landing.
A good strategy is to grab a Sprite Locator early, then use it to plan your route around nearby Sprite Chests. This is more efficient than wandering between random locations and hoping for a lucky spawn.
What Cube Sprites Do
Cube Sprites share the Overdrive effect. When you are inside the Storm, this effect improves your movement by increasing sprint speed and jump height. The boost is designed to help you reposition when the Storm is closing or when you need to escape an unsafe area quickly.
The ability is particularly useful during late-game rotations. You can move faster through the Storm and reach the safe zone with less wasted time. However, Overdrive is specifically tied to being inside the Storm, so it does not provide the same benefit once you are safely inside the circle.
