Having second thoughts about a blocker person on Google Chat? Here is how you can unblock them in a few minutes. Follow the guide to bring them back to your active chat and continue the online thread of chatting. So, let’s get started.
About Google Chat
Google Chat is a popular communication tool built into Google Workspace, serving as a modern successor to Hangouts. As fun as it is, it is really useful. It’s designed for both quick direct messages and team collaboration through spaces. It is so versatile that within these spaces, you can organize projects, share files, and assign tasks without leaving the app. While it is great for productivity, some people find it all cluttered up. This is not what everybody says, though. It is perfect for workplace coordination as it integrates seamlessly with Google Docs and Calendar and spans the canvas for you to just start working on.
Steps to unblock someone on Google Chat
If you want to unblock someone on Google Chat, then these are the steps that you need to follow.
- To do this, just open the Google Chat app or your Gmail app on your iPhone or Android device.
- Tap on the Chat tab at the bottom of the screen to see your active conversations. This will show you a list of all the people you’ve had active conversations with.
- Here, you have to look for the Settings icon or even tap on your profile picture in the top right corner.
- From the menu that appears, choose Settings and then choose the specific account you are using.
- On the page that opens, find the option labeled Manage blocked users or Blocked in Chat to see the full list of people you have previously restricted.
- You can see all the people over here! Now scroll through the list until you find the name of the person you want to talk to again. They must be in there if you have blocked them. Otherwise, they aren’t blocked. Once you have found the name or the account, just tap on the Unblock button or the small X next to their name to remove the restriction.
- If you are on a desktop, you can just click the gear icon in the top right of the Google Chat window and select Blocked users to find the same list.
- Once unblocked, you will be able to send them new messages and see any incoming chats from them immediately.
It is a good way to restore your online connection with someone you happily want in your chat.
