In Star Wars Battlefront 2, unlocking new weapons is a rewarding part of the journey. Whether you’re a new recruit or a returning veteran, understanding how to access each class’s unique guns can give you a competitive edge. Every weapon brings a new strategy to the battlefield, and mastering them all helps you adapt to different playstyles and game modes.

To unlock new weapons, you’ll need to use each class in online multiplayer modes. These include Galactic Assault, Supremacy, and Co-Op. The key to unlocking weapons is simple: you need kills—lots of them. Assists don’t count toward unlock progress. Only confirmed eliminations register, and they must be done in multiplayer games.
Each class has four main guns that unlock at different kill milestones. Three of these require general multiplayer kills, and one weapon per class is exclusive to Co-Op mode kills. As you unlock and use these weapons, you’ll also gain access to modifications—attachments that enhance things like accuracy, rate of fire, or cooling power.
Assault Class Weapons
The Assault class is your all-around fighter. Great at close-to-mid range, this class is often on the front lines.
- A280 Blaster Rifle – Unlocked after getting 50 kills using the Assault class.
- CR-2 – Requires 200 kills with the Assault class. It has a rapid rate of fire, perfect for clearing tight spaces.
- EL-16HFE – Unlocked after 400 kills. Best used at medium to long range.
- E-11D – Earned by getting 50 kills in Co-Op mode using the Assault class.
Each weapon also comes with three modifications. These are unlocked by using the weapon and hitting kill milestones like 25, 75, and 150 kills with that specific gun. Mods can boost things like accuracy or give you scopes and burst fire.
Heavy Class Weapons
The Heavy class is built for crowd control and durability. Armed with powerful blasters and shields, they’re ideal for holding down choke points.
- DC-15LE – Unlocks after 50 kills with the Heavy class. Solid all-around weapon.
- FWMB-10K – Requires 200 kills. It’s slower but hits hard and has a longer range.
- TL-50 – Unlocked at 400 kills. It’s high-powered and can handle multiple enemies at once.
- T-21 – Earned with 50 Co-Op mode kills using the Heavy class. This weapon hits like a truck.
Weapon mods help reduce recoil, extend overheating thresholds, and improve sustained fire. It’s worth grinding kills to make these blasters truly powerful.
Officer Class Weapons
Officers support the team by boosting nearby allies and placing turrets. Though more of a support role, they can still hold their own in combat, especially in close quarters.
- S-5 – Unlocked with 50 kills. This one includes a zoom feature and can stun enemies.
- Blurrg-1120 – Requires 200 kills. It’s a burst-fire weapon with good stopping power.
- SE-44C – Unlocks after 400 kills. A rapid-fire pistol with solid performance.
- DL-18 – Achieve 50 Co-Op mode kills to unlock. Balanced and easy to handle.
Modifications include things like faster cooldown, better recoil control, and longer burst durations. While Officers aren’t often on the front lines, they become surprisingly deadly with the right gear.
Specialist Class Weapons
Specialists are snipers and scouts. They excel at long-range combat and reconnaissance. Patience and accuracy are key when using this class.
- IQA-11 – Unlocked at 50 kills. A standard sniper rifle with zoom functionality.
- A280-CFE – Requires 200 kills. A hybrid that can be used as a marksman rifle or charged shot.
- NT-242 – Unlocked after 400 kills. One of the strongest rifles in the game, perfect for vehicle damage and long-distance takedowns.
- Cycler Rifle – Earned with 50 Co-Op kills using the Specialist class. It’s a powerful, single-shot rifle.
Sniper weapons also come with modifications like reduced scope sway, faster recharge, and thermal vision. They’re designed for players who like to stay just out of reach but still make a big impact.
Tips for Unlocking Guns Faster
Here are a few smart strategies to help you unlock guns more efficiently:
- Focus on One Class at a Time
Spreading kills across classes will slow down progress. Stick with one class until you unlock all its weapons. - Play Co-Op Mode for Specific Weapons
Co-Op mode offers a more forgiving environment. AI opponents make it easier to rack up kills compared to PvP. - Track Your Progress
Use the ‘Career’ tab in the game menu. It shows your class progress and how close you are to unlocking the next weapon or mod. - Use Star Cards Wisely
Equipping the right Star Cards can give you an edge in staying alive and getting more kills. Cards that reduce ability cooldowns or increase health regeneration can help you last longer in fights. - Claim Your Weapons
After meeting the kill requirements, visit the ‘Crates’ or loadout screen. The weapons won’t appear automatically—you’ll need to equip them manually.
