Dharmesh Shah, the co-founder of HubSpot, has entered the AI space with a groundbreaking platform called Agent.ai. HubSpot Co-Founder launches Agent.ai, a platform designed to help businesses create custom AI agents. This agentic platform, introduced at the INBOUND 2024 conference, has already attracted over 258,000 users in just four months, far surpassing its initial projections.
Shah, reflecting on the platform’s success, shared on LinkedIn, “When we launched, I hoped to have thousands of users in beta. In reality, we had 47,000.”
Agent.ai allows users to build and customize AI agents with low-code tools. These agents can serve a variety of purposes, from analyzing personal health data to optimizing workflows. The platform functions as both a professional network and a marketplace, boasting over 3,400 built agents. Notably, HubSpot CEO Yamini Rangan is among the contributors.
Shah pointed out that 14,422 builders are now approved to create agents, with nearly 1,700 already contributing. This rapid growth signals a thriving ecosystem where professionals, entrepreneurs, and even students can explore AI innovation.
Shah’s Vision for AI in Everyday Life
Shah is working on his own agent, which uses data from his Oura Ring. While he is still developing its purpose, he envisions an AI that provides insights by combining health data with other daily activities, such as meetings or social media interactions. He asks, “Can your sleep patterns affect your performance in meetings?”
Looking forward, Shah believes that AI agents will play a pivotal role in shaping the future. “Even with current large language models, it’s clear that AI agents can handle key tasks and augment team performance,” he said.
At INBOUND 2024, HubSpot Co-Founder launches Agent.ai. Although Agent.ai operates independently at present, Shah hopes it will eventually integrate with HubSpot’s ecosystem. The long-term vision is to make AI agents a central part of HubSpot’s CRM platform, aiding businesses in their marketing, sales, and customer service functions.
The Growing Popularity of Agentic AI
The popularity of agentic AI continues to soar, with both tech giants and startups venturing into this space. According to forecasts, the AI agents market is set to grow from $5.1 billion in 2024 to $47.1 billion by 2030. Indian entrepreneurs have been particularly instrumental in driving this growth, leveraging advancements in foundational AI models to create cost-effective agents.
At a recent event, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, demonstrated Copilot Studio, an AI platform designed to help users build their own agents. Nadella emphasized, “Building agents should be as simple as creating a spreadsheet.”
Similarly, Arundhati Bhattacharya, head of Salesforce India, highlighted the potential of Indian startups to revolutionize the agentic AI market, stating, “India’s startup ecosystem is poised to address challenges at a billion-plus scale.”
HubSpot’s Vision for AI Agents
During the INBOUND 2024 event, HubSpot introduced Agent.AI, a professional network designed for AI agents in marketing, sales, customer service, and operations teams. Through this network, businesses can access pre-built agents or create their own to integrate with HubSpot’s Smart CRM.
HubSpot Co-Founder launches Agent.ai with the aim of making AI accessible, even for those without technical expertise. In a demonstration, Shah showcased several AI agents that are already in development. These agents aim to simplify tasks, such as conversion rate optimization, company research, and customer executive briefings. One of the standout examples was the Conversion Rate Optimizer Agent, designed to help marketers improve website performance. With just a few clicks, users can input a URL and receive suggestions for enhancing the website, including changes in phrasing, call-to-action buttons, and imagery.
